This is amazing, I am very jealous. Like you I track my Z51 a lot and would love to do this. If it wasn't for having to rip off the side rocker section that is epoxied to the car I may have considered it but no way I have confidence to do that. Hats off to you sir!

I don't know if he's a forum vendor, but if anybody needs/wants that info just let me know.

After nearly a year of tracking it looks like mine need to be replaced. Can you PM me the info on the rebuild kit?

Thanks, Jet, for doing this thread. It should go down as one of the monumental C7 threads on here and should at least be a sticky. You will now be the go-to guy for all that want to attempt any C7 body modifications.

Paint match is very good in natural light. I'd roll with it.

How close was your paint?

It looks good in pics.

Great job...if they can get the paint that close I am going to start sourcing parts.

Care to share the overall parts budget? Did you pay retail or get a discount on parts?

I can get GM employee on the whole thing but its hard to tell if that's actually work something given that some dealers run specials on parts.

Thanks, I had it out in the sunlight today at several places and nobody could tell that the panels were painted separately.

I looked for body panels by googling 'GM Parts' and then pricing different online suppliers. I also searched eBay. You have to compare apples to apples when doing that because some will charge more for shipping than others, but not charge sales tax. I bought from three separate online vendors. I also bought some things from my local dealer who gave me 20% off and no shipping charge, but they added sales tax. Here's what I paid for major parts, delivered:

Aperture Panels $483.79 each
Front Fenders $521.89 each
Front Wheel Well Liners $77.66 each
Front Fender Side Vents $76.45 each
Front Fender Molding $76.57 each
Rear Quarter Panels $399 each
Rear Wheel Well Liners $62.50 each
Rear Bumper Cover $661.69

Adding a few other small parts (rear bumper badge & lettering, rear bumper grilles, fasteners, etc.) the total came to $4350 delivered to my garage. Rear spoiler and front splitter will depend on how fancy or plain you want to get. Good luck with it and don't hesitate to get in touch for help along the way.

Thanks.

So about 8-9 grand all said and done if I were to do just a set of stock take off Z06/GS wheels and off body paint?

Rear spoiler I'd go stock, no splitter, my car is too low for a splitter.

Thankfully we have winter coming so I might start around October when I put the car away. Those prices you got were better than what people are selling used on eBay.

Pair of rear quarters they wanted around $1800 for. Front's were $900 and those were both take offs which needed to be stripped and repainted.

How much space did you need to do the job? We have a extra wide 3 car but standard depth and we have a 2' raised lip. We are in the process of tiling the garage and getting a hoist. I think the hoist in the 3rd bay against the wall would interfere with a lot of the body work.

I was going to measure it out today to see if I could get the car in sideways and still park the other 2 cars since it would give me a lot of room to work on the sides. Maybe hold off on the hoist for the extra room.

I went back and read through the entire thread post by post. Was leaving the old epoxy points enough to correctly line up the aperture panels? You left the big beads fore and aft, places the panel against them and it all fit?

So you just re-epoxied and push until they stopped/positioned themselves on those old pieces of epoxy/shims?

It does not seem like you'd need much epoxy because they do not seem to be structural pieces, basically just held in the correct position?

2 aperture panels (rockers)
2 rear quarter panels
2 rear wheel well liners
1 rear (upper) bumper cover
Z06 rear spoiler (rear end is now wider so the Stingray/Z51 unit won’t fit)
2 quarter panel rear brake cooling scoop liners
2 rear valence/bumper cover vent grilles
Fuel compartment door
Assorted fasteners and clips, many of which can be reused original parts

If I just want a Z06 looking on SIDE and REAR section of C7 Stingray, is that it for all parts I need ?

BTW, do I need any other stuffing parts inside of body parts such as No.18 Shows in the picture? Do I have to change exchange the side skirts? Does Stingray OEM rear lower cover match with the Z06 rear upper Bumper cover?
what else I need?

Excellent job on the work, it looks great!

Not to take away from the absolutely phenomenal job you've done, but the paint is absolutely glaringly mismatched. The front end and front passenger shots really show just how obvious it is. The new panels are missing the brownish tint that Shark Gray has; They look more like a Cyber Gray than anything else.

Must be the lighting in the pictures or your perception of it. I've shown the car to dozens of people over the past two weeks and everyone agrees that the paint matches perfectly.

Yes, you can do the side and rear panels only. Only one very small detail will not match up, and that is where the the rocker panel (at the lower front end of the aperture panel, right below the front edge of the door) meets the bottom rear of the front fender. One will be slightly convex and the other will be slightly concave.

Stingray / Z51 side skirts will not fit on a Z06 rocker panel, the Z06 aperture has a very different shape.

The rear lower valance from your Stingray will match the Z06 rear bumper cover. The new upper bumper cover is wider, but so are the vents that fit in the vertical openings on each side, and that makes up the difference.

I'll PM you with all the part numbers for the extra parts you'll need.

Photo's are very difficult to have a perfectly uniform painted car look equal because of the light, camera etc.

Car looks great! Hope GM gets some ideas for replacing front fender spats!!

Absolutely! Here's a picture from this past weekend's NASA event at NOLA Motorsports Park. I also added a new carbon fiber hood from Weapon-X, and it looks awesome in person!

Man, this has been one of the best threads I have read on this forum yet. This build was an absolute joy to watch come together. The car looks outstanding. I'll drop my 2 cents worth while I'm here. I would love to see this car with an aggressive front splitter now that it has the WB conversion done. I think it would really set the car off. Either way though, it is a beautiful car. Congrats and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
