Just curious, why exactly do the manuals need the additional engine cooling?

I wonder how long it will take them to make this additional radiator available.

I'm really starting to think with Corvettes, it's best to wait to order what you know will be the final year of production for a generation. This way you don't miss out on anything.

I wonder what the 2018 Grand Sport will have that the 2017 does not?

The space was available so they decided to improve for track performance.

Continual improvement is a good thing. Luckily, many of the improvements can be added on to earlier models.

I'm personally glad I bought a 2014 in October of 2013. I'm glad I didn't miss out on all of the miles of smiles that I enjoyed over the last two and a half years. But I'm also glad they make improvements and I'm excited about getting a new GS soon too!

Wouldn't this likely be the auxilary lay-flat radiator that is already available through Chevrolet Performance for $895?

I've had a 2014 and I have a 2015. I have not sat on the sidelines.

I actually bought my Cyber Gray specifically cause it was a one year color and wanted to keep it, but it got hit. It was one of the first cars built with the Comp seats at the time since they were on constraint almost every month when the C7 production started.

I haven't been watching the issue of Z51 overheating really close, but I thought the issue on the track was overheating transmission rather than engine. So isn't the trans cooler most important?

I suppose the M7 could benefit if the engine is kept cooler, and it should have the larger Z06 trans cooler in the rear quarter, right?

Do both the M7's and A8's have diff and trans coolers in the rear quarter panels? With the A8's added front trans cooler will it still have the cooler in the rear quarter panel too? I am a newbie to corvette's so straighten me out if needed.

This may be why the A8s are wonky as well they must be running to hot. What's interesting is the cooler is also going into base cars so a problem must exist.

I have heard locally and online of people with Z51 and Z06 A8's that the trans overheat at the track, but they didn't have issues on the street.

Also, per "ask Tadge" > answered thread, M7 does away with AFM.
Great news on top of great news...

This was my impression as well. As long as the trans cooler upgrade is in there, I'm happy

One of the first things I did when I got interested in C7 was to read all of "ask Tadge/answered" threads.

A8 transmission gets hot because the auto in track mode forces staying in higher rpm. Tadge recommend short shifting "manually" in lieu of using auto to not let things get over heated. Not ideal for A8 people, but that's a work around...

I had this mentality and finally gave in and ordered a 2017 (TPW 8/8)...I've been wanting to buy a new Corvette my whole life and was capable to do so since about 1995. I did the same thing with a Harley. I walked in and out of HD dealers for years and finally bought a 2009...sure; there are newer features since then but the joy I've received riding 74,000 miles on the current bike far outshines some new features.

Don't sit on the sidelines; jump in and enjoy as there will always be better, newer, cooler...

That might push me to an M7.

I have heard whenever you are in D the AFM will come on and it only stays off if in M. Has anyone confirmed that is true on the GS?

I have a '15 Z51 A8 that I track regularly. I replaced the OEM tranny cooler with the larger one from LG and that helped, but not enough. So I installed the original cooler under the rear cross member as a secondary unit and my track overheat problem has been solved.

You should read ask Tadge thread. AFM is only activated in Eco mode.
