hmmm so the one they're referring to is a 3LT with comp seats and suede and diamond pattern everything... so we're not talking 66k at that point... you're up to 80k.

I think i'd take a 1lz z06 instead of a loaded up GS at 80k

I think the Grand Sport with the Z07 package and M7 becomes a real drivers car. It appears to have found a perfect "balance" for track and canyon/mountain carving duty. That's what I'm impressed with. No need for all the fluff.

Car and Driver just tested one. The as-tested price was 95k.

Yeah crazy. That also tells me that it was on the heavy side, could the performance have been even better? Simply it's $14,000 less than any comparably equipped Z06.

The Best Corvette Ever is always the new model coming out and next year it will be the same thing all over again.

...and at that price point it's still missing 190hp

Not to me. 500 total sure, 650 just not necessary unless you want to drag race. And drag racing just ain't my thing. Nor is FI on a track car.

not that it's a bad C7 but with more power I'll take a "base" Z.

When it's yours its awesome...when it isn't yours then you start finding minor issues with the car...just be happy with what choice you made (whether a Z06, Z51 or base 1LT) and be done with it.

Didn't they say that when the ZR1 came out and then when the Stingray came out and then when the Z06 came out LOL it's just GM PR at work.

When was any mass marketed product portrayed as inferior to a prior model?

I agree with the "whatever is new" is marketed by the manufacturer as better, however we have multiple third party publications highly praising the effort. Essentially it appears to be the sweet spot. Then again buy what "you want" and be happy without bashing others purchases.
