I think there's a certain symmetry there that looks good. I wonder if choosing 4 has something to do with the sound they were trying to achieve? I know some people don't like the sound, but that doesn't mean they weren't trying to achieve something here that needed 4 tips to do the job. I remember reading that the designers of the Miata, for example, spent a great deal of time and engineering to get the sound of that exhaust "just right." In other words, it might be more than just a "looks" issue.

And besides, they're fake. The split from two to four is only a few inches inward of the tips.

That's exactly what I mean, xxaarraa. GM can't please everyone. The Corvette is a compromise from bumper to bumper. I understand that you find the exhaust tune less than appealing, and I won't argue with your point of view. Others find different things less than perfect, or even unacceptable. But you know what's great about the whole thing? The Corvette is highly mod-able.

Let me preach on it. GM has produced a great car for the money and its so well liked that many aftermarket vendors have produced a wide variety of gizmos for us to use to customize our car to our own taste. Its up to the individual to make their purchase into the car of their dreams.

I bought a base coupe, didn't like the grille so I replaced it with a Z06 grille. I bought my car in December and didn't like the summer only tires so I bought Mich A/S 3s. I added skirts and a splitter, painted the wheel center caps to match my brake calipers. I painted the Corvette lettering in the wheels to match my calipers. I added a front camera. I added a Stingray overlay on my third brake light. I added a manual switch to the fuse circuit for the NPP exhaust. I've added sound dampening under the carpet and inside the wheel wells. I moved the small OEM cargo net up front behind the seats and added a large 3 pocket net in the back.

No point in wishing GM had built the Corvette a certain way. Buy the greatest sports car America has ever built and mod it to your own tastes.

My dad has a C6 Z51, and his 4 split tips look wimpy compared to my C7's center mounted quad NPP tips. I am surprised there is any dislike for this design element... I love them!

To me the quad pipes are one of the best design elements on the rear. What I don't like are the drooping vents next to the tail lights.

four tips are okay they just need to on each side of the car, having all four center stack looks a bit silly considering the whole rear end is angular. Square tips look cheap and aftermarket in most applications so that's a definite no no.

Personally I prefer 2 big exhaust pipes-1 big pipe on each side of the car- not in the middle.

The best angle of the C7 is the rear.

The four tips look great and, if you've got NPP, sound great.

They probably put 4 pipes close together so people couldn't hang tacky looking chrome plates and emblems and stuff between the pipes like you see on so many C5 and C6.
