2017 Corvette Engines Made in Mexico?
I was at a Corvette show yesterday. In the showroom was a 2017 GS convertible and a coupe. Another Corvette owner said to me look at the window sticker it says car built in Bowling Green KY Engine built in Mexico Transmission built in US. There were 7 2016's also in the showroom and they all said Engine made in USA. Here is a photo of the sticker. What is your opinion about this?

Typo.
Bad one too because they can be fined for that not sure if that content specifically would call for a stop sale or not until its fixed.

As far as I know, all the Corvette LT1s are made at the Tonawanda plant (In NY) and all the Corvette LT4s are now made in Bowling Green (some were previously built in Tonawanda.

Tremec manuals have been made in Mexico for quite a number of years now for vettes. Engines are still assembled in the USA.

Before people freak out that our manual transmission is made in Mexico, remember that TREMEC is a Mexican company and builds the transmissions used in a lot of RWD V8 applications (Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Viper, etc.).

Gots to wonder where the parts for the A8 were sourced, like the defective convertors or stators? Not where the A8 itself is assembled. Quite a few C7 parts I upgraded and got from GM were marked made in China. Even if something is assembled in the US, most of the time the parts are made elsewhere. Don't like it? What you going to do?
Does it matter? Definitely to those that were whacked!
Does GM still offer that program where you can go assemble your own engine at Bowling Green? Maybe that is the answer.

Wikipedia:
Finally superseded by GM's Generation II LT and Generation III LS V8s in the 1990s and discontinued in 2003, the engine is still made by a GM subsidiary in Mexico as a crate engine for replacement and hot rodding purposes.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chev...ock_engine#LT1
So the confusion escalates!
Personally, I love the lt1. Where ever it is made, they do excellent work.

Clearly states LT1's for 2016 Corvette applications were made in Tonawanda. Camaro LT1's in St. Catharines, Ontario. Not to say this did not quietly change in 2017.
BTW, It also shows A8's as being built in Toledo, OH and Silao, MX
My 2016 Stingray built 11/15 has U.S. listed as country of origin for both engine and transmission.
Bottom line of this thread...Check the window sticker carefully before you lay your American dollars down. :

The Window Sticker for my 2016 Stingray Z51 A8, manufactured on October 31, 2015, identifies the "United States" as the "Country of Origin" for both the "Engine" and the "Transmission".

I would guess so. Since we know the transmissions are built in Mexico, this could be a simple transition error. Seeing anything in print does not make it gospel truth.
