Anyone do an X Pipe but keep OEM Headers and Mufflers?
I've got a 30% discount coupon to use on Borla and was considering going with their NPP ATAK System but I've ready numerous people on here say that it is barley louder than the OEM NPP Mufflers. I really do not want to spend over $1,000 on something that isn't much of a change. I'm wondering if just doing an X-Pipe is worth a look since it deletes the secondary cats? I do not plan on going to headers anytime soon.
Looking for feedback from anyone that has done this.

i have been very disappointed with the aftermarket mufflers compared to NPP.
the NPP is not the weak point of the exhaust for sure. If you want more sound you gotta do headers. But in regards to your question, i would put the discount on a borla X pipe.

I put the Corsa X-pipe on and kept my stock headers and NPP exhaust on my Z51.
The car is louder than before and smoother sounding. Best part is that nothing has to be tuned and you won't throw any codes. It's an easy mod to do yourself as well.

I put one a couple weeks ago. Borla x pipe. I have npp and there is a significant difference. Especially when you rev it up! Bark, burble, and pop! Love it.

Wouldnt expect to feel any difference with just an X pipe save your money. Now if for sound, spend the money. Slippery slope there put on the iceskates

Xpipe with NPP here too.
It's a no brainer, why spend 2 grand on an exhaust when you can spend just 500? Best part is that I still have stealth exhaust mode for my neighbors.
NPP partially closes valves in 4th gear from 28mph to 38 for federal noise abatement. You can leave it in third instead or just enjoy sneaking up on a mustang. This is the only drawback with NPP.
Otherwise the xpipe is loader, half the weight, and should allow future mods to breathe better..

If you want a muffler delete without the hassle of some muffler shop trying to hand build something, here is the cheapest, loudest option. Of course, you have to zip-tie up your valves still if you have NPP....

Stupid question I bet, but if I replace my catback I lose the NPP right?
I'd like to have 20-30% more noise when I'm on it but definitely don't want to get rid of the NPP.
Coming from this:
To what I have now, it's A LOT quieter even in Sport or Track mode.

Borla saves almost 6 pounds vs. stock.

And I just reread some of the thread.
Can someone with NPP and the X Pipe share a video so we can hear what it sounds like when you are driving and WoT?
Ideally both internally and externally?

Corsa does not make a NPP hooked up exhaust like Borla does though if you decided to swap it all.
The Borla NPP system is very expensive as well.
