You’ll need to order the same kit I did and swap out your HMI, ACM and USB ports with the OEM ones in this kit (if you already have factory Nav you won’t need to install the GPS cable.

How did you do this for $650. The link you posted shows the cost at $999.

If I understand correctly, you bought a product but really had no idea what you were buying?

Sorry, if I misunderstand.

Do you lose the PDR functionality using that device? I feel like I heard that somewhere.

There are a couple of "devices" being discussed in this thread so you should probably quote the post or indicate which device you are querying about.

No, the kit I linked is for the OEM updated HMI and ACM. These are the updated OEM modules and if your car is equipped with the PDR it will not affect the function of it. Here's what they will tell you...

"we pre-program to the Vin of the vehicle specifically to retain those features. This is only upgrading your vehicle to the factory equipment available in 2018-2019 vehicles of the same name. However if you do run into any issues we support all of our sales with live customer service and with a 90 – day warrantee and a 30 – day money back guarantee."

Nope, $999.95 will only get you the upgrade to the onboard Nav System with GPS, etc and I already have it in my 2015. The problem is in order to get IO6 upgrade which has the CarPlay features I have to pay the $999.95 for the newer HMI and ACM (with features I already have) and Pay an additional $400 to get CarPlay. (The older HMI's like I have 2014-2015 are not software upgradeable to CarPlay.)

So, I paid:
014-2015 Chevrolet Corvette MyLink® IO6 GPS Navigation Radio Upgrade - w/Apple CarPlay
Quantity: 1
Total: $1,399.95
Discount (code: BFCMTR): $-139.99
Subtotal: $1,259.96
Shipping: $0.00
Total: $1,259.96

I have CarPlay in all of my vehicles (Ford F150, Audi A3, Audi S5) and I wanted this one consistant. It's my daily driver and I'm in it @3 hours every day.

It looks like here: https://www.infotainment.com/collect...=9856511836196

You pay $999 for IO5 which gives you Apple/ Android Car Play but no Nav. The IO6 version seems to be for Nav, which I don't need. How much was your install?

Before you even get to see that, there is a big metal plate that protects all this equipment that is not hard to remove, but just be aware that it's there and unbolted. Again, just an FYI that it's just not as easy as this person is making it appear. This is speaking from experience and I posted on that experience several years ago, so if anyone is interested, here's the link:

I use Apple CarPlay all the time for Nav (especially great now since the Google Maps App can be used with Apple CarPlay), and it is still working great over these last 2 years. Added bonus for me is being able to use the "I Heart Radio" app to listen to various stations I like from different cities around the U.S.

Yeah, the video is lame for that and the ACM is the PN. All that said, it was pretty dang easy....nothing to get all excited about. I've been running CarPlay in my other cars since 2016 and I think it's great. I use Waze all the time and was so happy to see it added recently. I also listen to a lot of Podcasts and having that interface up on the big screen is great.

This question is for redvetteman97. What did you buy for $650 that enabled Apple Car Play on a 2015 Vette?

Yeah I lived to eat my own words regarding the loss of the PDR, but the problem is solved now as I detailed in my post on this other thread on the same subject: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ur-hmi-13.html
