Let's put it this way . . . the clip in, leave-on lifting pucks are incredibly inexpensive insurance.
After looking at the jack points and the rocker panels, they were my first accessory purchase.

I purchased mine from a forum vendor, Southern Auto Parts. They were under $50 if I remember correctly. The price may vary, from place to place, but will probably be within $10.
I went w/ the high-impact plastic ones, which I am more comfortable with because they give a floor-jack cup or plate something to grip or bite into. I've seen billet aluminum ones, but those would worry me for use w/ a floor jack, and more likely to slip off the jack.
Of course, it probably depends upon the type jack you're using. The plastic ones will work with any type.

I have the black plastic snap in ones from corvettemods.com. They are designed to snap in permanently but I intentionally broke off one of the two clips so it could remove the puck to use the T-hook slots to tie the car to my trailer. I have used the same set of 4 pucks on my C6 and now on two C7s

Even the cheaper plastic leave in ones that might (I only say this because I read a couple cases, most don't have issues) break are worth the trouble to prevent damage to the car. I, meanwhile, considered a lot of options and went with the anodized red metal leave in pucks from ZL1Addons. They're a forum vendor here and sell them for around 70 bucks if I remember correctly. I haven't put them on the car yet but they seem very well made.

Melting Slicks
There is no downside to leaving the plastic ones in. Matter of fact they saved the rocker on my old C6 GS when I backed out of a friends driveway off the edge and the LR tire was hanging in the air and the jacking puck was on the curb. Three guys were able to push the car back up and the only thing that got scraped up was the jacking puck.
Backup camera and tilt in reverse mirrors on the C7 sure help, but I plugged a set of plastic ones from Southern Car Parts in both my C7s.

That is a great idea. However, if I may, add that a guy could break off one of the two prong tabs (on all 4 pucks) and place them in the rear storage compartment or possibly even the glove box. That way in the admittedly unlikely event you break down or find yourself stuck on the roadside with a flat (if you changed over to non runflats) then the flatbed truck driver will be able to use the T-hook slots to secure your Vette. Then at the service garage you can grab your pucks and put then in. They will almost always stay in even with just one prong with the car sitting still. I have even had to wiggle them a hair to remove them once off the lift or jack.

Correct, no need to break off a tab. They can easily be pried off, but they're attached securely enough such they can't fall off.

What tools are you guys using to pry the pucks off? A putty knife or something similar? If they come off as easily as stated, I could see leaving them in with both prong tabs intact.

< $10 have had them in the trunk for 16 years 4 different cars......have never had to used them on the road.

To elaborate my point about floor-jack safety and jacking pucks in post #7 above, the thing I like about the plastic leave-ins is that they are tapered to fit partially inside the saddle of most floor-jacks.
That provides a lot more security. I've seen a couple of reported incidents on this forum recently where C7s slipped and fell off floor jacks. These should make that virtually impossible. If you're only going to use a 2-post lift where all four corners are coming up at the same time, it doesn't matter what style you use.

My hand. It really just takes very little force. They are in secure, but that doesn't mean they are hard to remove.
