Default Price Check for '16 Z51 2LT

I found the Corvette listed below on the web page of an out-of-state dealer. Since I was in their town on business, I stopped by the dealership. Heck, it was not even on the lot, it's being driven by the dealership owner as a loaner. (not titled, dealer plates only)

But see, the thing is, the web listed price is based on the mileage at 2 miles, but the floor salesman sez it has at least 1500 miles on it now.

The dealer owner has agreed to bring the car back tomorrow evening for a look-see.
So what does the forum hive mind think is a fair price based on 1500 miles, and what offers are available for a current 2009 owner. GM loyalty? Rebates??

Thanks for the help!!

Closest I could find in a similarly equipped car was at Kerbeck offering $8080 off sticker, no miles. I would think that the dealer is a little high in their price.
I would buy from Kerbeck and get it new, or one of the other forum vendors and forget your local guy.
If you really want the car they have I would think that $65,000 would be a fair price.

Larger forum dealers offering 12% off plus $2000 owner loyalty rebate. That's without negotiating. Prices are dropping, 17's are out. Minimum 15% off plus rebate, shoot for 18%. Anything less buy new.

Dumb question here, when you guys say 12% + $$ is that off their MSRP or the so-called Dealer web page "value price?"

Thanks for the help. But, - buy from Atlantic City, New Jersey??
That's 1000 miles from my home in Missouri. Even farther from you in Texas. How can that be a deal with airline tickets, hotel, gasoline, etc?

I bought my car from 850 miles away from Boardwalk, and got it shipped for free in return for financing through them (so they use the finance commission for shipping).

I got a 1LT Z51 for $52K ($61395 MSRP).

The pricing might be such that it's worthwhile for you to do it. Either shipping it or flying out there and having a fun little vacation driving your new ride home. It's certainly worth looking into! Good luck!

I posted the same question on another forum, and I'm getting some interesting answers there.

-> I would pass on that particular car, demo plates/dealership I wouldn't consider. 1500 miles of "I wanna make my c*** hard" is USED.

->Is the discount in price going to be worth not knowing if it was broken in properly? If it was hammered mercilessly from the get go?
It'd have to be a pretty big discount
.

And most intriguing
-> Do not trade a LS3 C6 for a C7. You will be disappointed. For that money you can get a 2009-2010 ZR1 with 5000 miles on it.
C6s are the bargains of the century right now but that's starting to change as people realize the C7 not the leap they claimed it to be.

Owned 4 C6s (Z51, Z06, Grand Sport, and finally Z06 w/ PTM) and finally a C7; there is just no comparison. In short, I don't sweat with the C7 at the track as much as I did when I drove C6s: no snap over-steer at high speed corners that gives you white knuckles, no painful understeer/slow turn-in at the end of fast sections (thanks e-diff!). For me, C6 would only be acceptable as a fully stripped race car at this point.

You can probably ship the car to you in a closed carrier for around $1,500. Add that into the cost of the new car and then compare.

You could check with Rick Conti at Coughlin Chevy in Pataskala, OH. They are just a 500 mile break in from St Louie. They have some great prices also. Good luck in your search.

I have almost the same exact build except the mag ride and maybe a few trim options. I paid $57k during the model year, yours is last year's model now. I'd shoot for $60k max.

UPDATE -> TUESDAY 8/23 TEST DRIVE; DEALER NOT NEGOTIATING.

I visited the dealer early Tuesday evening. After speaking to the salesman, they agreed to allow a test drive. And what a drive it was! IMHO, the Stingray is great. Way nicer interior than my C6, chassis is more refined, the A8 transmission is the best auto I've ever driven, and the directed injected LS3 is a beast! I WANT A STINGRAY NOW!!

Bad news, the dealership is collectively out of their minds. They are sticking to $67,940 after the Corvette Loyalty. I was polite, but firm that I would not pay that much for a "used" car. I walked, and will look for another Corvette elsewhere.

Here's the dealers web page. http://www.millerchev.com/VehicleDet...-MN/2761817483

Tell them to pound sad, - or make your own deal, - have fun. I'm done with them!

Good for you for walking away. There are plenty of '16's out there at the right price. You just gotta keep looking.

Can't say I blame you for walking out - you can get better deals on brand spanking new cars with less than 10 miles.

If, I wanted that car, I'd be in at no more than $60K + a gratis CPO warranty thrown in by the dealer. Because, it's actually a used car with those miles to you. Regardless what they call it. Be happy, you got a nice free test drive out of the deal. That's more than any Chevy dealer has offered me on a C7!

Good for you!

Very good deals can be found, but you have to spend some time on the computer. I just purchased a 2016 3LT convertible from a dealership in Evansville, Indiana. MSRP - $81,010. Purchase price - $64,710. 20% discount. I've spent a lot of time scouring the internet for 6 weeks, looking for the right deal.
