Default Techniques for avoid parking lot dings

I get my Corvette 2017 2LT in October and have been contemplating techniques for avoiding getting body dings from other cars. I was pretty good at it with my 2011 Mustang but still ended up with a few.

What do other people do to avoid this problem. I thought about a james bond like shock system, but that would probably be illegal . But more seriously how do other people do this?

Thought to be fair, I think you have more to worry about with paint scratches rather than dings because of the composite body panels.

After you park way out, with any luck you might pickup a wingman

I do the same and have with most of my DD's over the years. In fact a buddy with a Vette and I parked together 150 yards away from the front door at work! Figured I have lost 50 pounds in all that time, which let me eat ice cream and put it back on!

Like others have mentioned, I park far away from others when I can, even if it means a bit of extra walking, and I always look for an end spot, hoping that way to at least protect one side of the vehicle. Using that end spot, I also get as close to the curb as possible, so that if someone does park next to me, hopefully that will give them a little extra room for their door to open. Been pretty lucky so far, knock on wood.

^^^^
Forgot to add that I also try and find an area of the lot that slopes a bit uphill with reference to the rest of the lot, so hopefully any errant shopping carts don't come rolling my way, especially on a windy day.

I either park way out in the weeds or if available next to a handicapped spot. The reason why? The handicapped spots are always wider so I can park close to the line which gives me more room on the opposite side so doors can open wide. But best of all, if you can, park next to your buddies Vette.

I always try to get the end spot. On the curb, as close as possible. Preferably on the far right. To face the passenger side of the other cars. Not much you can do in some cases. Park as perfectly centered as you can in the spot if you're between two cars and make it quick. haha

Might want to reconsider this approach... I saw a handicapped van (with a ramp) parked next to a nice Mercedes SL500... the Jazzy came down the ramp right into the door of the Mercedes. Ugh!

I hire two guys with rusty pickup trucks to park on each side of me wherever I go. Extra bonus is the both follow me so its almost impossible to get rear ended. Unless they rear end me lol.

Fortunately, its not brain surgery. Use your common sense. And, be ready to walk.

Oh boy, I've seen way too many handicapped people (no offense, the handicapped spot IS made for them) who swing their doors WIDE open (cus they have to though)....I'd NEVER park next to that spot.
We try our best to park as far away as is feasible, and not near others unless there's no choice, obviously. This is true with ALL our vehicles, not specific to the Vettes.
Always be courteous, park in the lines.

Yes, and people parking in the back of the lot are usually doing it for the same reason you are, or they are employees of the establishments instructed to park there for their day-long shift.

Walking is good.

Marina and I enjoy walking. We park out in the hinterlands and take two spaces. Perfect!
