I don't think the trade is bad - with the sales tax savings it is really $47,850.
The bigger problem with all of the LI dealers is that the best I have seen for new is MSRP on a GS or Z06 and $2k off on a Base or Stingray - which is way overpriced compared to Kerbeck and MacMulkin.

I live on LI and have owned 3 Vettes, each from one of the 'Big 3'. I always try to buy local out of convenience, however the shady BS, high prices, and limited selection always take me back to the big boys.
I did trade-ins with 2 of them and those transactions were easy and hassle free. Trade-in value was decent and the price on the new car phenomenal. If only I could service my cars at the Big 3...

You didn't tell us what your car is? Is it 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT. What other equipment does it have? That will make a difference in trade in price.

Trade-ins are always wholesale priced on their worth. Surely, you know this? The dealers do not have you by-the-ballz; so stop squealing as if they do.
Just sell your current car yourself, or try another dealer.
Regardless, I hope you find yourself in a 2017 GS !!!

Since everyone knows (even teenagers do) that you always make out better selling a car outright than to trade it in... it always amazes me that people complain about trade-in values.

OP: don't get mad because the dealership didn't give you what you wanted on a trade. Go elsewhere and also try carmax. This may be rare, but they gave me 3k more for my Fiesta (beater) than I would have gotten had i traded it for a Malibu a few months ago.

Dealerships are in business to make a PROFIT. Some do it with class others not. Buying and selling a car has been and always will be a negotiated process....Depending on the buyer and seller it can be fun as well. Some of you need to read HOW TO BUY A CAR FOR DUMMIES....

Traded my 11 and bought a 2016 at Arnold. Deal was fair all around. Ok maybe I would have saved $800 running to A C or New Hampshere but I rather have the convienance of being local. Besides I heard once you get your trade to A C the low balling begins since they know you took the long trip. Also Arnolds Corvette mechanic Chris is top notch and really gives a dam.

I am also amazed at how many people Bi^#@CH about trade in values and don't seem to realize dealerships have to make a profit on each transaction. They have to employ people, pay taxes, utilities, etc. Sure I'd love to get retail for my trade and wholesale on the new car, but that is not how it works in the real world.
As others have said, move on and find a better deal. Or try buying in the dead of winter when they may be more motivated to sell one. That has worked well for me.
Oh, and even though I have the same last name I have absolutely no relation to them.
