It's quite a "Catch 22" as it appears the feature is included to sell cars and then used to void warranty on occasion, if they decide "abuse" is involved.

Yep. And they have found the rear axles for the IRS are breaking. The aftermarket already has beefed up rear axles out for it to fix the issue.

Default Rear End Failure Explained!

This video tested and proved my theory of why the rear ends are failing in the C7 Corvette using launch control. If you are using launch control and the car senses that it is on a hill it will put your brakes on and damage your vehicle when you launch it.

WARNING!!!
THIS WILL OCCUR EVEN IF YOU LET LAUNCH CONTROL STABALIZE!!!

This issue can be completely eliminated if Chevy changes it so that the C7 corvette does not apply the breaks when you are in any competitive driving mode or stabilitrack mode.

See video below for a complete explanation!

Very sorry to see this. I know your feeling. I blew a clutch in my C5 at the drags. But I never felt comfortable with the "launch control" in my C7. However, you did what the manual says and if you have a decent dealer you should get them to cover it under warranty. Good luck.

Can you try it in Track Drive Mode? I wonder if the brakes will still hold in that mode. I don't believe my brake was holding since I was on flat drag strip. Good theory tho!

^^^ Also see if RPMs hold higher because in Sport was only 4000RPM. My 2016 went to nearly 5000 in Track Mode.

I will do that and see. I don't think that the sensor, whatever determines to put on the brakes or not, will normally NOT hold the brakes while on a flat road, but if the sensor malfunctions it could put on the brake when launching. Just a possibility and a theory. No way to prove it.

Its raining today, and I am heading out of town tomorrow, so Ill do a test video next weekend with Track mode and see what we get!

I was able to get out this afternoon, it stopped raining, and make another video. I will post it shortly (need to edit). The theory holds true when in Track mode. RPM is the same for launch mode and the brake holds as well.
