Car and Driver lightning lap Grand Sport, 911 GT3 and McLaren 570-all run 2.47's
This months car and driver lightning lap shows the grand sport z07 , Porsche 911 GT3 and the mclaren 570 are all within a few tenths....
2.47.1 for the grand sport and 247.0 for the 200 grand Porsche 911gt3 with PDK ...
So much for the need for PDK....lol

I get car and driver magazine via the internet....so I don't know how to create a link.
I imagine the various forums will have a way to create a link shortly.....sorry guys
Usually someone takes a photo of the magazine ...or car and driver will post on their website the article

The grand sport corvette really did well.
So much for all this talk how DCT s are so important to have over a manual transmission..
The performance of the grand sport compared to the mclaren 570 and Porsche gt3 rs both of which have DCT s...
Very impressive track performance by all three...

Melting Slicks
Probably in the same way that the Viper was able to run the second best production car lap ever - 2:44.2 (which beat last year's Z06 time of 2:44.6).
I guess we now know 190 hp is worth 2.9 seconds per lap (GS v Z06) - pretty big, but not nearly as big as the 6.7 seconds that some aero and a set of wider stickier tires is (GS v Z51)

Wider lightweight wheels, light weight CCB's, Z07 suspension...

Just stunning that the GS is faster than the 570S that has about 100 more HP, DCT and is significantly lighter and neck to neck against a GT3 RS that also has more power, lighter weight and DCT.
Thats incredible.

Drifting
Just note that the 570S is advertised as a fun car, not a max performance car. The 650S is the max performance car.
