If you are in TX, don't do it.

I have never put one on any of my Vettes but I strongly urge you not to. I mounted one on my Mini Cooper and it deteriorated over time as the cable and track assembly corroded and locked up with moisture and road gunk. I eventually just left it in the up position so I didn't have to worry about the tag not showing and getting another ticket (put the Show and Go on because of a fix-it ticket in the first place). It looks better on the Mini due to the front fascia shape - I think it doesn't look so good on Vettes because it's more exposed. Also, it got damaged a couple of times when my brother tapped a curb driving my Mini once and then again when it scraped the asphalt in the down position coming out of a parking lot.
Here's a video of when I first installed it on the Mini.

I used the Remote Control Show N Go on my C6 but when I got my C7 I went to the manual Show N Go at $45 plus freight. Its pretty easy to put it up or down. Several Corvette people here in my area, Central Iowa, are now using this...

I have one on and I've left it down so far. Only had it a few weeks so far. Wasn't too much trouble to install. I'd prefer not to have a front plate but I'm in Ohio and they say you have to have one. I've seen a mount that is "curved" if you will that would be my second choice. It kinda has a point to it. Hope that helps.

I will be getting one as soon as I lower my car. I want to do some measurements first. A fellow local owner has one and loves it. You can see it if you look, but for the casual observer it is very suttle.

I like this one best. Simple is always better, and less than 2 seconds from on to off. They sell two versions, one for the splitter equipped cars (GS and Z06) and one for non-splitter equipped cars.
It's the Sto-N-Sho not the Show-N-Go.

I have the motorized model on a stock C7.
I must say the mechanism does not seem to be built in a manor to last for a long time; but my 2015 is not a daily driver... so I am not worrying about it.
I added a Rube Goldberg circuit so that it automatically displays the plate when the engine is running; retracts the plate automatically upon engine turn off. So far, the retracting mechanism has held up surprisingly well; it retracts the plate and then spits it back out each & every engine cycle.

ya know, i need to get a video of this.
The motorized version came with two keyfobs. I incorporated one of them for my MM automated setup.
Interesting... the low tech in this motorized license plate retraction product; there are no limit switches, no end position detection. You need to press & hold the FOB button until the plate moves to it's completed position, then release the button. Once the mechanism reaches it's end travel, the electrical motor just stalls until you let go of the FOB button.

I went with the removable from
.
Minnesota requires a front plate, but I see a LOT of nicer cars skipping it, so for now I keep the Zip plate in the trunk.

I have the motorized Show n GO currently on my c5 . Works great with no problems, It's been on car 2010. Easy to install I just had to build ramps to get front end up for drill, Getting myself to drill holes in corvette was the hardest part of job. I will install on c7 that I'm planning on getting next summer.
