Default New oil Change

I typically change oil long before recommended, usually at 50%.
Anyone think the first one in a non Z51 car should be earlier that recommended by the Oil Life Indicator?

Changed mine at 1,200 Km this week. Also there are those that say to change your oil before you store your car for the winter.

Absolutely, how long do you want to tote around all those shavings from your initial break-in?

I ususally change oil first time on my new cars at ~1000 miles. Probably not "necessary" but it can't hurt to get the break-in crap out. Chevy did my Z51 at 500 this time so I didn't have to. :-)

I did it in my base at 1500 miles. Mine is a '15 and I got the 4 free changes, so it eemed like a no brainer to me. But even if I had to pay for it I would have had it done, in my younger days I would have done the changes myself, just don't have the room now.
and at 71 being prone is not a position I relish....
