A Fathers Lifelong dream for his son realized by his daughter-Delivery post Sept 24th
~I received a call this week from a woman(Mindy) that was referred to me by a long ago customer. She made an appt. and told me of her plan. Her Father passed way too young at the age of 51, many years ago and it was her Fathers lifelong dream to buy his Son(Harold) a new Corvette. Mindy always wanted to fulfill her Fathers wish as Harold has been such a great brother to her. Mindy had a budget as we all do and the hard part was the color as Harold always spoke of wanting a Red Corvette...This past week I showed Mindy the new color for 2017, Watkins Glen Gray and she loved it...but would Harold? The plan was to meet me at Criswell 8am yesterday so she could drive and store it in her garage. Mindy arranged for her brother to come from Baltimore at 11am under false pretenses. Mindy had the whole scene videotaped but forgot tissues...tons of tears and happiness. I get a call at Noon that all is well and they would be heading back to the dealership to finish up the paperwork. I met Harold and went over the whole Corvette with him. Mindy bought him a car cover from the parts dept. and then they rode off beyond happy. To all the forum members out there...it doesn't get much better than this! Check out my CorvetteFurman Facebook page for Harold's interview/version of the day.
~Ken F. from Frederick, MD has been a Corvette owner since 1974. Ken called me up 7 weeks ago to factory order a new Admiral Blue and Kalahari 2017 Grand Sport and to replace his 2015 Laguna Blue Z51 Cpe.
~Jennifer K from Santa Rosa, Calif got a surprise gift from her boyfriend Jim when he ordered her a loaded Torch Red 2017 Z51 Convt Corvette! Jim placed his two orders for Z06 Convt's to be specially prepared by Callaway to the tune of 757HP and decided to place her order as well at the same time. Last Saturday Jenn took Courtesy delivery of her Corvette and in a couple of months Jim's two Callaway Z06 Convt's for him and his business partner will be completed.
~Robert G. from Flossmoor, IL (just outside Chicago) Factory ordered a new 2017 Grand Sport Cpe in Black Rose with Kalahari. I gave him a sight unseen appraisal on his 2003 50th Anniv Corvette and the rest is history. Robert and his Sister drove straight from Chicago 670 miles and arrived at Criswell Noon yesterday. By 1pm they were headed back to Illinois. To say Robert was thrilled with his new Corvette...would be an under statement.
~Tony H. from Ellicott City, MD was referred to me a few weeks ago. I had a 2017 Arctic White with Red 1LT being built and it was perfect for him and his son. Friday night he flew back from a vacation in Mexico and yesterday morning they came by and drove it home.
~Terri and Vicki from Annapolis, MD have bought two Corvettes from me but yesterday they traded in their NON GM 2011 truck for a new 2016 Colorado Diesel.
~Peter and Susan from Mclean, Va made an appt to come see the new Volts...I didn't realize they would match their Limerock Green Corvette with a new 2017 Citron Green Volt. Yesterday they drove home together.
~Matt from our Golf club needed a used Tahoe for his growing family so this week they picked up the family truck.
~ Throwback pics....
~Enjoy the day...next week I will be at Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada from Oct 1st-5th. I am meeting 15 of my Corvette customers from all over the Country for some Corvette instruction by some great instructors at the Ron Fellows Corvette school.

2017 Critique - all in fun
Wow, sounds like Mindy had an option to return the Watkins Glen Gray contingent on final OK by her brother Harold. Very good ending. Mindy taking care of business.
Good thing the Admiral Blue arrived before X-Mas or Ken would have had a Blue Christmas without it.
Jennifer is one lucky GF I think everyone will agree. I'm going to try something new. As soon as I find out Jim's user name I may just send him a buddy request. Then after a while I'm going to drop a hint that I like 757HP Vettes and never had one. And I will add a hint that X-mas is coming soon. I hear Mr. Rogers singing, "Will you be mine, will you be mine, will you be my buddy?"
Moving right along...
Roberts sister sure is color coordinated for the Black Rose. Even for the 50th Anniv in case things fell through at Mike's desk. Her expression is "over the top" and I can see why. Brother Robert dropped off one fine looking 50th Edition. Hope you guys take good care of it and park it indoors. Otherwise you can't sell it garage kept anymore.
Did you tell Tony from Ellicott City to keep the car out of the water when he got home? I actually considered a 1890 home in town but high on a hill near the courthouse. They had flooding issues back then as well. btw: his son is acquiring great purchasing skills already.
Terry & Vickie are going to enjoy Colorado w/o ever having to leave Maryland.
That Limerock Green looks so fresh it could pass as a brand new 2017. Be careful...Mike will have a SR moment & sell it w/o realizing it's not his inventory.
The Lake Tahoe looks Mission Accomplished!

I certainly hope that I can soon have my own "Corvette story" with some pictures to boot.
I got an offer on my house (been on the market awhile now) and I close on my new home (with a garage) on or around November 1st. Soon thereafter, it might be time to order my dream car.
Strong possibility: A 2017 Stingray 2LT, 7M in Torch Red with the black wheels.

I am not going to count my chickens yet.....but my current house is finally "under contract" and my new home is almost completed - with closing set for November 1st. Once the money comes through (no mortgage on my current house) and I purchase my necessities for the new place, I am more likely than not going to be looking to order a new C7 sometime in mid-December.
It's just a matter of numbers, I suppose. I will be in touch, sir!!
