Default Fingerprints on the door

Just noticed that the C7 does not have a small hand-hold so that a car door can be closed from the outside without leaving fingerprints. This is a change from the C6 that was probably made so the side view would be sleek and completely unobstructed.

How do C7 owners get around this issue of possible fingerprints from closing the car door from the outside?

Trying to keep fingerprints off a car? Your car must be cleaner than mine and I wash mine every weekend (in Summer)

I use the palm of my hand and push on the top corner of the window. It the window is open then an edge of the door.

I cannot believe someone else is as **** as I am as I really miss that little black plastic thingy on my C6 too! I figured it was to help not 'ding' the car's door when opening it, but yes, used it to close the door.
I use my shirt to close the door. Yes---****.

If it were entirely up to me, I'd use my shirt too, but my wife would probably not go to the trouble. It is a small problem, but one I was hoping others had solved.

And yes, I'm **** (but it kept at least a couple of guys alive in Viet Nam).

Carry a clean microfiber towel and a bottle of Mixed up Rinseless solution in a windex bottle in your trunk....... it's great for getting rid of Bird bombs and fingerprints… And yes it's much better than a quick detailer… Don't buy that crap.

I had to go look at my car to see what you mean. Very clever. The solution is so simple it plumb evaded me. Thank you.

Never gave it much thought, I just close the door, fingerprints easily removed with detail spray and microfiber towel.

Agee, I also been using this method as well and works very well for eliminating fingerprints on the exterior door.

I wish I had a picture, but it is on the side of the door and is a bright silver metal piece. I was afraid it would have grease on it but it doesn't. You can grab ahold of it and use it to swing the door closed.

That said, it is pretty close to the ground and not easy to use.

I started pushing on the glass instead.

Wow! If my doors get to fingered up I will use the palm of my hand to eliminate them. I usually close door using the top edge.
