2018 Corvette ZR1 Shows Off Its Huge Rear Wing Up Close
It will be interesting to see how much power the ZR1 will be putting out in order to necessitate such a large wing in the back!

GM is sure doing a sloppy job of hiding the ZR1. I'm beginning to think it's by design to keep mags and reporters focused on the C7.

You have a good understanding of aerodynamics, I'm sure.....
There is a MASSIVE difference between throwing a rear "wing" on a 4 door Civic and the rear wing on this new Corvette (whatever it is) as well as the Porsche GT3 RS/Viper ACR/etc.

Huge it is.

Cue the "I think big wings are dumb because I think they are for looks only" comments.

This ride could end up being the cats ***, I sure hope GM does not juke it up "spats"
Would be really sad for a car of this cost and caliber.

I don't know why everyone seems to be ignoring the other wings in this video.
Wouldn't those wings be more sensible for the street?
Now, look at the back edge of the Big Batwing...notice those "claws" near the mount brackets?
Are we sure those aren't sensors to measure DF and aero properties?
Or is the wing really being tested for next year's C7.R?

The wing has a functional purpose, whether you use it or not, as does your hood vent for active downforce and quarter vents for cooling. Neither of which does anything for you as you cruise around your neighborhood.
Btw, functional wings can introduce a good amount of downforce at highway speeds alone.

Are you kidding?
You honestly think downforce only matters at speeds at or around 170mph? Hell at that speed the drag created by a wing this size should be damn near topping you out. Downforce can absolutely be felt and useful at 75mph speeds on track.
But I digress. Back to my original undisputed point, the rest of your C7 is just as functional as your Camry for getting groceries. That doesn't mean it's dumb just because you don't use it.
