GS is ready to ship
My GS was built last week and is not going to ship until Nov.14th
Why is it taking so long before it will ship ? I was hoping to get it before the snow and cold weather.

Mine took 3 weeks. I found out it was due to a lack of transport vehicles.

Just for reference, I've had 2 Vettes built in the last 10 months and they both sat in Bowling Green for 2 weeks.

Congrats on the car. Hope somehow it gets shipped earlier than Nov 14th.

I think it is pretty much like most delivery processes. They won't send a half empty truck. So in many cases they are waiting for the truck to be full before it makes a run to upstate NY. It may even need to go on a train.
I am an hour north of NYC. And a dealer near me said their cars go on freight train, since they are in Dutchess county.
I envisioned the car sitting for a while waiting to get loaded on the train then unloaded, then waiting for a truck from train to dealer.
So I went with Kerbeck (biggest dealer in the country). I assumed they must get a lot of deliveries. Car was built on a Monday, they had it the following Monday and I was driving home on Friday.
Just have it for 3 weeks now and my biggest concern was running out of nice weather. So quick delivery was real important to me.
Good luck.
So what color are you getting? Give us some details.

My 2015 was built 9/15/14, sent to Distribution Center in New Boston, MI where it sat until 10/27, then freight train to Selkirk, NY. Picked up for delivery 11/1/14, really pushing it in the NorthEast for winter, but luckily drove it a bit over 500 miles before hibernating it for winter.
Good luck, hope you get it soon.

I seen a truck load of new C7s heading north on I-75 through Cinci this past Thursday. All wrapped in white plastic.

The museum told me to expect two weeks from the day it is built until they get it, and that's just across the street. Sounds like they have to follow the same process of filling the truck even for those deliveries.

Have you asked Nate at Van Bortel to check into it for you. As I stated in your other thread mine was delivered within 10 days or so after build date. Ordered from Van Bortel.

I didn't buy mine from VanBortel so I wouldn't ask them to do that for me. I did look at VanBortel's and they treated me great. Nice people to deal with but I got a much better deal at a different Chevy Store.
