Tow hooks? Yes or no
#41
So let me get this straight........ you guys carry $300+ worth of tow hooks in the trunk for the unlikely chance you may break down, and do not chose to roll the car, yea last time I checked you could push the tires and roll a car, to get it lined up or out of a garage for a flatbed?

Do you carry a spare tire too? Why not so extra oil or some antifreeze too?
Track use is one thing but daily driving?

I hope that's straight enough for you, because I can explain it to you, but I just can't understand it for you.

Personally, I think this looks awesome. Im sure that I am younger than most here, but I think I will do the same as this picture, so thanks! I see no point in removing it an having it loose in the car, nothing wrong with leaving it on. Most of the GT-R guys I run with do the same thing.

i didn't say i don't use them for HPDE as well. And, not that i have to cover EVERY scenario with you, but when the car is on the 5th floor of a parking garage at work, i'm not pushing it down 5 levels, or up 4 levels depending.

Those tow hooks are better then I thought. Well worth the money.

I bought a GM tow hook just in case I ever need to get towed on a flat bed. I talked to a tow truck driver the other day and told him I had purchased one, he said they have all the different tow hooks for various cars and that most towing company's also have them it's just part of being in the towing business. So I probably wasted my money on one, at least it fits on top of the battery.

Wow that flatbed must have a long tow chain to reach around 4 or 5 floors! I thought he was able to drive to your floor and all you needed to do was get the car out of your space so he could pull it onto the flat bed. Sorry I did not know he had to pull it around 5 floors from outside.

While at a Cars and Coffee recently a friend and I were checking out this corvette, and he saw the tow hooks and asked what they were, and told him they were tow hooks, he looks at me puzzled and ask what do you tow with them...I said Mustangs! ...the guy polishing his Mustang about three cars down gave us quite the stink eye!

I track my car 8+ times a year, and I have used the hooks at the track.
Anything that helps the EVT folks get cars off the track quickly so they can get the track green is appreciated.
Think I'm removing them between events?
Stick with your cars & coffee.

I don't track my C7 because I bought a vert. I tracked my C6 coupe extensively. I can say with complete honesty that if I thought the track workers at any track I went to couldn't find a red two hook sticking out of the grille without a decal pointing to it I'd bypass that track. YMMV.

The decal with the arrow is overkill...

If you are on a cross country trip, need a tow, the tow hook could prevent wrecker hook on damage and make it easier to get onto flatbed
