Hiding the retainer on the C7 Grille - Did you use Carbon Fiber decal tape?
For the ones that decided to paint and/or put a decal on your 'Shiny' chrome retainer on the Stingray grill......I have saw somewhere that someone put a carbon fiber type decal tape on theirs and it looked really good. I'd rather go this route as paint it so I can take it off if I don't like it. Of course I'd rather have the Z06 grill, but the thought of removing the nose just horrifies me! Can you tell me who has this tape, and if there is a install video that would be great! It appears the Chrome strip is two separate pieces so are you taping over it to cover the gap in the center or doing each side individually?

Amazon sells it. Just search for carbon fiber tape. Don't think I am allowed to post a direct link.

Just sit in the drivers seat, you can't see the grill from there. No one other than some Corvette people really care if it has a chrome strip or not. ZO6 grille isn't worth the cost to change out.

I put the tape on, it looks "ok" but to do a proper job, you must put little slits into the tape so it all folds over nicely since the chrome strip varies in thickness, it would take me one more try to get it perfect, but you might want to rather try with that sprayon stuff... at least you can always remove it if you don't like it.
i was gonna go with the Z06 grill but the front camers are integral to the grill so with that the Z06 grill is much more expensive and i like the front cameras more than i hate the grill

I used the carbon flash vinyl decal from forum vendor VetteFX. It was inexpensive, easy to apply and looks good.
I really like the Cyber Gray painted to match the car, that is a good solution as well. Good job!

I got the carbon fiber precut strips from Vettefx a forum vendor. Easy to install and it goes with my other choices for the accents in a Yellow Black kind of way.
I also purchased a gloss black roof bar black out strip and wet applied it. The exposed carbon roof does not match well with carbon fiber vinyl because the two have a different tint. The gloss black matches the window exactly and produces the spears you see in following.

I taped mine with carbon fiber tape from Vettefx going on almost 2 years now. Its held up nicely. I would like to put in the Zo6 grille, but I think next spring I'll just replace the whole car with a Z
