Default Orange Peel

In another thread someone mentioned that Orange Peel on the paint was very hit and miss.

I'm interested in knowing what C7 owners are thinking.

Please post a close up photo of your paint.

It is pretty hit and miss. Have seen some awful ones, and have seen some really, pretty good ones. And everything in between.

Mine was average to good when new. Pro detailer worked it over and improved it, and it looks pretty darned good now.

Hopefully the new paint shop at the factory will improve this and pull up the consistency.

Practically flawless on the carbon fiber, hood, roof, and hatch.
Obvious on the side panels, and doors, if your looking for it.

Sorry, but cars to filthy to post pictures on the internet, at this time, but I promise to edit in the not to distant future.
Still filthy, but I said I'd post a picture

^^ I have the same report. The flat surfaces are pretty good, but the vertical surfaces not so much. It is what it is though, and I'm not really up to pay someone to correct it. I have more fun driving it than worrying about the paint.

^^^Ditto.
Lots of OP on the vertical panels on my black car. Still looks great, though. Glossy is what matters most (to me).

When I first picked up my car when I got close to get I was a bit shocked how much OP was on the sides of the car. But now I don't notice it.

At a local new car show I looked at every car & truck from every manufacturer and was also surprised to find every vehicle had OP, some were really bad. And it was not limited to lower prices vehicles. Tesla, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Ford, Acura, etc. all had lots of OP. It's what we get with water based paint.

I think this statement sums it up for me also.

Just a little on my upper drivers side door. I'll try getting a close up later as it's really only noticeable when the sun hits it at certain angles. I honestly never really noticed until I clayed and polished the car.
