Z06 or Grand Sport?

If the OP has made it this far into the thread...
I'd ask, how much power is too much? Do you like a kick in the pants, of the pucker-inducing variety? Most of the Z owners are going to say the power is fine, though most will advise care with mashing the velocitator. For me, the LT-1 is just fine, I like the 460 horses and I feel it's perfect for this platform.
Therefore, the Z is worth it if you want the insane power, otherwise, it may very well be a waste, since you're not likely to use most of that potential. If you've had a chance to test drive them, let us know your thoughts.

I believe this was answered before, but just for the sake of argument... Let's assume the warranty is up and you want to throw, say a Procharger on there, what do you need, besides the blower, and what is the total cost, including labor? How much HP can you expect from a low boost setup?

Yes, you can get a killer discount on a left over 2016, but what will it cost to upgrade the 2016 with the new for 2017 supercharger, and will that void the warranty?
GM didn't spend the time and money to redesign the 2017's supercharger just for the fun of it, and we don't know if the problems are completely resolved.

And I'm willing to bet that you could never get a Z06 to overheat.
GM recognizes the fact that there is a problem with the 2015 and 2016 Z06's, so they redesigned the supercharger for the 2017 models.

What don't people understand about this? Z06s aren't overheating on the street. They're not overheating on track with novice and intermediate drivers. They overheat when near-professional drivers do hot laps with them in Texas during the summer.
But trolls are gonna troll..

Grand Sport...great performance and design package at great price. Z06 is the big daddy right now though not for long (ZR1 coming) and do you really need that much power on the street.

GS owners must be really digging the clear tail lights of the Z06 since that would be their primary view if they lined up against one.

There is no cooling problem with the 15/16 Z06s. They upgraded the cooling for the 2% of SERIOUS track enthusiasts who are buying the car to use primarily as a TRACK car. These are people that use the car to compete and actually know how to drive the car at or near it's limit.

Burning Brakes
The Z07 package is great, but wait until the first brake job at $6K... Most track guys I know pull the CCB and replace with Iron rotors. I got the GS, and love it.. Its what I wanted, not what everyone thinks I should get... I have driven base to Z06 models, and the GS is a perfect blend of balance and power, especially on the track
