I always turn off autocorrect as the first thing to do when I get a new phone. The correct spelling of words are always listed at the top anyways, so if I need correction, I can choose one.

Let me chime in here. I can't defend my purchase last year. I discovered I'm addicted to horsepower and should have bought a Z06. And since my wife has become fond of my base LT1, she can have it. When we move down to Arizona this coming spring or summer I'm going to buy a 2017 Z06 LT2. Now as far as the GS, I think it's great, but I'm not going to track the car so I don't have to worry about overheating, etc. I will drag race the car though and use WOT as much as possible. That's how I get my cookies now days, so looking forward to it. Should have bought a Z06 in the first place.

If you will not track the car, I think you should grab a '16 Z06 NOW before the deals go away. You could save $10K (depending on your options) if you buy a leftover; the upgrades won't make a difference at all in your case anyway.

Good comment, now this makes sense. If you're a 1/4 miler buy the Z06. This makes the extra power usable.

I am not going to buy before I move, but thanks for your consideration. I understand there are minor improvements on cooling, and the Transmission (A8). Now with that said, you may wonder if I am not going to track the car, why should I worry about cooling? Well, I may change my mind about tracking the car.

It's very obvious, with the comments being thrown out about overheating and cooling system issues, these posters really haven't a clue as to what they are talking about. Beyond that, it infers a tinge of jealousy against the Z06 crowd for buying the premier model of the Corvette line. It's a real shame these guys act so childish. If you like the GS, just buy it, forget the Z06. Heck, besides the simple side badging markers these 2 cars have, there is principally no exterior difference between the two vehicles....one has a bigger engine and some other drivetrain differences. And believe it or not, neither one has a cooling system problem for the typical end user profile which accounts for 75%+ of the Corvettes sold. Lighten up guys, if you want a GS, just buy it and enjoy it.
Well, I agree with you. However, I am thinking the second post in this thread indicating the GS is a wanna be Z06 was the start of the childish behavior.

Wow. I read the whole thread...

My car's faster, no MY CAR's faster!...

I'm not taking sides, but if you define faster as straight line, power helps and Z06 will be more fun. If you define faster by exit speed, get either car w/ Z07 package, but GS will be more fun.

Interesting point to bring up to the annoying Z06 owner that keeps insisting that GS is a lesser car: I'd bet a GS with Z07 will beat a Z06 without Z07 on just about any track.

Just saying its not so cut and dry.

EDIT: PS - People keep saying the GS is a Z51 with a wide body. It's not.
Wider body is huge btw - wider tires, better lateral G and cornering, reduced roll.
GS Adds: Z06 Brakes. Z06 Structural reinforcements. Z06 Cooling. Z06 Aero.
You can't get Z07 package on a Z51.

it's pretty cut and dry the zo6 is faster until it overheats, which I haven't experienced.

Lets ignore the overheating for a moment.

Are you saying you think a base Z06 is faster around a track than a GS Z07 -- both in the hands of a decent driver?

I really don't think so.

Sincere question.....why do you think the GS will be more fun?

For myself, the decision between the Grand Sport or the Z06 would be all about economics. Even though I don't drag race or track, if money was not an object....I would go with the Z06! LOL money is an "object" with me, so I went with a new leftover '16 Stingray Convertible at 20% off sticker. I originally wanted a 1LT GS, but that too was more than I could afford! Either way you go...both are Great Corvettes!
