Has anyone tried this replacement?

I bought another one here and is at my upholsterer for the same treatment. Will post when installed.

2015 Stingray A8 2LT (non-Z51). January 2015 build. Purchased new late March 2015. 27,000 miles on the car. The pleating occurred a few days ago, happened all of a sudden.

Drove the car to the dealer this morning, Van Cevrolet here in Scottsdale, Arizona. The warranty guy said they seen it before and no problem, it's under warranty. The part will arrive there in about a week. The car is a year and half old and has 27,000 miles on it.

Thanx to everyone for posting their experience and for the support.

Thanx for posting, I probably go this way if it warps again.

Edit: the Monkey Parts one, link posted below, looks good too.

Sure thing- I wonder if the "DSV padded, diamond pattern leather center console lid" has the same padding and dents the same as the factory leather?

Mine is pretty bad too so I will see if they will replace it. And if that one does it again then I will see about getting the one that has the stingray on it like in this thread:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...armrest-3.html

Not sure if these will do the same or not.

For those of you who already had it replaced at the dealership- did they let you keep the defective lid? Might want to try seeing if different types of foam work better

My C7 is a 2LT was well, and I just had my 4th one replaced, all under warranty. Please be aware that you have a "Fit and Finish" 2 years or 3 years, no questions asked coverage on C7's... Please contact the service dept.

My dealership agreed to replace mine. Said it would take a few weeks for the part to arrive.

I'm going to try to take apart the old one to see if I can find a better type of foam.

My dealership is replacing mine too and I asked what do they do with the old ones. He said they have to keep them for 10 weeks just in case they have to turn it in, but after that they just throw them away. So I asked him to try and remember when that times comes to call me so I can get it and take it some place to have better foam and better leather redone on it. The new will just do the same in time.

Retain it 10 weeks? that's pretty random and pointless
Mine will totally forget to call me after 10 weeks

How long did they say it will take for the part to arrive?

Its suppose to be in tomorrow, and I made the appointment (order) about two weeks ago. Also have it in for the recall and the warble noise. I dont know if the color of it makes difference in the order. Mine is black so may be more stock available.

I will be calling the service rep I always go to to keep reminding him. A good service rep goes a long way so I use the same guy and become friends with them.

It is covered and being replaced but this happened within 10K miles so it will just happen again. Mine is a DD so those 10K come pretty quick. The leather and foam are the problem so I want to use the old one to get it redone with better foam and better leather that wont stretch out. The dealership will eventually just say fair ware and tear and not replace anymore.

My replacement armrest arrived today- took 12 days.

The dealer wanted me to make an appointment and come back another day.
Uhhhhhhh.....it's only 3 small screws. They let me borrow a screwdriver, and swap it out myself.
Replacement looks a million times better.

Bad news is that they refused to let me keep the old armrest (not even if I was willing to wait 10 weeks). Claimed they would be "charged for it" if not returned to GM. Not sure that I believe that after reading the other posts in this thread.

Hope this one lasts longer than 1 year/8k miles!

I was told by the rep I always go to that after 10 weeks they throw them away if they dont have to return them. BTW justhad mine installed today too, took about 4/5 days to get here. They did in 5 mins.

My dealer claimed they HAD to return them. Under no circumstance could I keep it. Not sure what GM is going to do with a busted armrest. Hopefully they will get the hint that it was poorly manufactured/designed when enough start arriving.

Well if I cant get my old one back then when it happens again on mine I will just have this new one redone with better everything and even try to get a stingray image stitched in to boot. Mine is a DD so if it does it again it will start happening witin a few months.

Hey guys,

I have a '17 2LT...has it been confirmed that the seats/armrest/wheel/dash cover is real leather? Or are some parts faux/vinyl?
