Default Detailed and ready for Winter

Completed my first wash since purchasing my C7 last week. Completed the following steps:

- Washed with Dawn soap (2 bucket wash method)
- Clayed
- Washed again with Dawn soap (2 bucket wash method)
- Polished (Adams)
- Waxed (Adams Super Wax)

In the spring, I plan on using Pinnacle Ceramic Coating but for now, detail completed, and putting her away in the garage for the winter.

What do you think of my end detailing result?

You shouldn't use Dawn as it removes oils from the finish and complety strips any wax. Use a soap specifically made for automobiles. Dawn is for dishes and removing oil from birds.

Simply stunning!
The most uncluttered and cleanest GS I've seen. Love the black and white combination.

You need to get rid of the wax and anything else before you clay, polish and reseal.

Your ride looks great, nicely done!

I may be wrong but isn't putting a NANO coating over wax not advised?

I was told to do the coating first so it bonds correctly to the clean and prepped paint surface, then top with a wax for ultimate slickness.

Either way, nice machine! You got the best colour...

Exactly... I wanted to start with a clean slate. It came out great and wax adhered with no issues

Thanks! You are correct... I plan on removing the wax and starting with a clean slate again in the spring. I wanted to get some protectant on it in the meantime. The superwax is suppose to last 5 to 6 months which will bring me to nicer weather in the northeast. Nonetheless, it will be in the garage staring at e when I come home from work.

The tough part is giving up my side of the garage and parking my daily driver outside. Tried to bump the wife's car out of the garage but she wasn't having it.

I'm not ready to give in to winter just yet. As long as no salt on the roads, I'll bring it out to play.

Don't over protect your car, depreciation is decreasing your car's value daily, driven or parked in the garage. You live in Delaware, there is a month or more of good weather. Today, in Central Pennsylvania, it was over eighty degrees and I had my top down with my current 2014. I expect my new C7 convertible to arrive around Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving there is a still few weeks, maybe more befor the ice/snow arrives.

I drive mine year round, with virtually the same weather, give or take a storm.

However, it does look stunning!
