Default Checking oil dip stick

I have 500 miles on lt1 engine, which I know does not have the dry sump, but when I check my oil stick one side of the stick shows full to the top on the other side it shows a quart low. Anyone can help me on this. I don't want to over fill it, but I sure don't want it low oil pressure? please advise. syswayne

I too have the wet sump. Average the reading, you are about 1/2 quart low. Good to go.

Give the stick a 360 degree twist, then pull it out...will give you an average reading.
