Just purchased a 2014 C7 1LT "flood car"...or is it?
So i own a small dealership in saint louis and i have been wanting a new corvette. Came across a 2014 C7 with a south carolina flood title. being sold by all-state insurance, says loss occured about 2 months ago, only two pictures of interior and neither show any sign of any water entering the inside of the car. Exterior pictures also show the car looking like new. Im starting this thread to document the journey im about to start with this car, purchased after hastily looking at only 4 exterior pics and 2 interior pics, i won the online auction for 19,000........heading to South Caroline to pick it up on monday....will update then. Im excited!!!!

UPDATE********
SHES ALIIIIIVE!!!. Got the call from the dealer today that after the bcm install they went through and cleaned most all electrical connections under where they assumed the water line to be and she fired right up. Has 6214 miles on it, picking it up today or tomorrow and getting it back here for the fluid changes and a good final look over before i take her out for her maiden voyage! To say im excited is an uderstatement.

Hey good luck to ya. Inside looks good as does the outside. Once you flush all the fluids and check under the dash you might be ok. Somewhere, or at least under the hood, you should find a water line or where crap go to. Anyway, good luck to you.

Great find if it is in as good a shape as it looks.
Hopefully you will keep us up to date with what you find.
Best of luck.

I could be wrong, but that car looks familiar. I think there was a thread here right after Hurricane Matthew's visit, showing a water-line slightly above the door line. The poster had recently taken delivery of a new car and was from coastal SC.

In a former life, I owned a Mobil brand gas station. It was the 70's, before gas stations became delicatessens! Automobiles where actually worked on.
One of my accounts was a salvage yard about a mile from me. When he got in a "flood" car, he'd call me. If the interior was clean, I'd buy it, replace all the fluids and filters and drive it for a month or so to be sure it was okay before reselling it. I never had a problem nor a complaint.
Just do yourself a favor... DO NOT drive it without having all the fluids and filters replaced, regardless how clean it may look underneath.
Good luck, at $19K you got a hell of a deal!

Any copart, or other salvage dealers sell cars for the insurance company's. Most flood cars are cleaned and detailed so you do not see the flood damage. A real good trained professional can pick out flood cars, lots of stuff can not be hidden. Beware . You will also get a branded title that will follow the car forever. Branded title's, rebuilt title's, salvage title's all take 25 to 50% from the cars retail value. There is a very small market for branded title vehicle's making them hard to sell, the newer the harder.

Yeah - a Crystal Red, base model C7 in 2014 is super rare. Seriously - a BUNCH of these were made in 2014. The odds of THIS car being THAT car are pretty long...............

I've read that there are ways to "wash out" a flood or salvage title in some states. Owner history is a must for me when buying a used car. I'm curious to know if the factory warranty is still valid on a car with a flood title.
