Default Spring Mountain's On-Track instruction samples (Videos)

I enjoyed a second Corvette Owner's School at Spring Mountain this past week after purchasing a 2017 Grand Sport this past summer. Everything about Spring Mountain is world class, from facilities to instructors to the various tracks. I am including two videos that demonstrate the type of on track instruction you receive as part of the Corvette Owner's school.

I put around 135 miles on the Grand Sport that I was assigned during the two day class.

2017 Corvette Grand Sport Track Demo at Spring Mountain Track

This PDR video was recorded during a ride along with Jennie, Spring Mountain Motorsports Resort Instructor, during a Corvette Owner's School. The instructor ride along sessions are at about 70% of what the instructors would do on the track if they were actually running on the track normally. The purpose of the ride along sessions are to demonstrate proper cornering, braking, accelerating, etc., on this particular track. If you ever have a chance to take a course at Spring Mountain, I would highly encourage that you do so. They have courses for every driving ability and experience level.

Thanks for taking the time and posting these, very well done!

You must have been driving too fast for the 460 hp group for them to throw you in with the Zs.
Here you go son keep up with these.
Tough to keep up with the 190 extra ponies in the ZO6s when they have decent drivers behind the wheel.

Good videos and I'm impressed with the instructor feedback given to the driver. Thanks for posting these.

Thanks for posting the videos!!
I'm sure you had a great time there, I know I did.
The instructors are top notch and very good at helping everyone learn.
Can't wait to go back for the Level One Class.

After the first track session on the first day, they start grouping the drivers by ability as they assess your previous sessions. It was awesome being in the fastest group, even though I didn't have the extra ponies. There was even a point during one session when we had to wait for the Z06s to catch up to us (when I was directly behind the instructor) and they had fallen back some during a two lap run behind me.

Their feedback is actually quite remarkable given they are driving the track and staying ahead of you just enough to make you work hard to catch them but never do you feel like you're able to.

Thanks for the videos. I'll be making my first trip in 2017. Still waiting for the yellow box to arrive in the mail. I took delivery of a 2017 Z06 coupe 21 October.

What strikes me is the video itself. The picture is better and the text overlays are different.

Anyone know if this is new software for 2017 and if there's an update available for earlier years?

Here's mine from 11/29/2016 on the 2.2 mile:

I was NOT in the fastest group, heh. But I did learn a lot, and had fun.

My video doesn't look as good, I think they need the PDR update done on that car.

Actually the HP difference isn't that great at the rpms and throttle openings they are running. You only have a peak HP difference of 190 HP if the Z06 is wide open at 6400 rpm under full load and the LT1 is under full load at wide open throttle at what ever rpm it reaches 460. Anything different and the HP difference is less and in some cases much less. You only go as fast as your brain will let you go that is why it is common at track events to see cars with several hundred less HP run away from high power Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros or Exotics.

Her line was spot on of course and smoothly executed, but the Instructor Lap I went on was at a much quicker pace. It was an eye opening experience on what the suspension/tires are capable of.

I also noticed no shadowing in the upper corners. Something must have changed somewhere along the line.
