About with the A8 I understand that if your getting on it quite heavily the paddles work quickly.I just go by what I have read.I'm A M7 type person

That may be a reasonable statement if you are over 60. If under 60 that means you may be relegated to owning only vintage corvettes. Very few 911s are available today with a real manual and Ferrari's have not had manuals since around 2009. I can not imagine that Chevrolet will not move in that direction.
However, in every case, I had to order it. They rarely bother to stock them because most people don't want to be bothered to put down their latte and their phone and actually drive.
To be fair, if you live in Chicago or LA or NYC, then an automatic may be your only choice to deal with the traffic, but if you were smart, you'd move.

I believe if GM had a button for performance mode for the transmission to be in its highest state of readiness even when trundling along...most here would be satisfied,,,
That's what GM doesn't understand yet....yes the track mode when recognized by the computers makes the A8 perform exceedingly well....but just driving around town or at 7/10s on a mountain road...the transmission paddle shift logic isn't in its utmost paddle shift readiness.....which is what is causing all the complaints...
With a simple button or mode for all the time....even when trundling along...most corvette enthusiasts would be thrilled with the torque converter automatic...
GM engineers just haven't seen the logic in it....yet.....
The complaints being made are not of logical determination but rather feelings...
Engineers have a hard time understanding the value of feelings over logic...
In their mind ...trundling around...or driving 7/10s should only require present paddle shift Times....whereas Porsche understands its customer base better...
They may be posers but they actually believe they are close to 10/10s when they shift the paddles or shift **** in their manuals...
Ferrari is Incrediable in tune with its consumers driving experience around town and at 7/10s...
GM hasn't figured out...that logic isn't always what it's cracked up to be when they design and engineer their sports car...
I'm sure a local tuner can Tune the transmission to deliver that immediate feeling of paddle shift at 7/10s...
Till then...just get a COW booster tune from chuck at corvettes of westchester...
It's all of 200 dollars and it will deliver that driver connection that the original poster is looking for...

And BTW, DC is 2nd only to LA for the worst traffic in the U.S.

I drove the PDk in the Porsche and it's immediacy is quite impressive.
Just put a COW tune in your A8 c7 z06 and you ll have what you want...
And the beauty of it is the corvette z06 crushes the performance of the same price Porsche...
To the original poster...it's a 200 dollar gamble....which is way less than selling your present ride and buying a manual...
If I'm wrong...I think chuck returns your money when you pull the COW booster out of the car...
I put this COW booster in my c6 z51 that stock tops out at 190 mph...I didn't really need the car to go faster..I just wanted a more connected , more immediate reaction to my commands in all driving experiences..
I would suggest you consider my advice before selling your A8 corvette...
You do need to put a thousand or so miles on the A8 first as it is an adaptive learning transmission...
Right out of the box it will need time to learn and it could even take more than 1000 miles...the number of miles needed varies and I don't remember the specifics of the learning period for the transmission computer itself..
Like I said...I've been driving manuals for four decades....I have one now...but I'm leaning towards an automatic next time because the technology for better performance exists today and I have to go with what's quicker...

The only C7 I was able to test drive was the 8A... loved the almost instantaneous shift quality, paddle shifting, etc. BUT I felt I was sitting on the car and not IN the car. I thought backing the car into parking spaces would be a breeze. BUT it lacked the involvement and control I wanted. Without test driving the 7M I ordered the 2LT, NPP, 7M and after 3,000 miles I love it. Enjoy accelerating thru the gears and using rev match on the downshift (which I soon got used to!)...absolutely made the right choice. I also realized the advancements made in manual transmissions have improved dramatically over the last 10-15 years. The C7 can creep along at 10MPH in 1st gear and the clutch action is very light... it makes my 2002 Honda S2000 clutch/shifter feel like a 1950 tractor. The C7 will soon be my DD I am selling my Honda!

Time I climb in it.You would think alter 2+ 1/2 years 17,000 miles it would be gone. The M7 makes all the difference.

Is that a 2015 or 2016? What was the oil temp? trans temp? I see the coolant was warm.
Is that a Z51 or base?
You realize the video you are comparing is a camaro ZL1, which is a completely different engine.
