Yep, a definite indication that demand is down and supply is increasing. Polar vortex won't help spur demand.

MacMulkin was offering 11% off of MSRP for the GS when I ordered in Oct. I wonder how this will affect their discounts?

I believe the discount is matching the GM supplier discount. Just a marketing scheme since most dealers already charge less than supplier price. If GM lowers the invoice price then that is a major price deal.

Typical done to clear the lots for a new model, maybe C8 will be here in 2018.

Does the vehicle need to be delivered during the discount period or is it applied right from the initial order before dealer negotiated discount price?

I priced a GS with not a lot of options an it appears it's around 6.7 percent. If the discount is like the old Credit Union discount the dealer will not add to the discount.

you must take delivery in the next 3 weeks so doesnt look like it will help anybody ordering. This also looks like supplier pricing. Lets be real here...most dealers are NOT going to pass this along unless somebody actually mentions this and most people dont really go on this site to build out a vehicle. Its not like our forum dealers are going to take this discount and add it to the discounts they are already using. The only people this will help are those that luckily happen to go to the site to build a vehicle, dont have a clue about the forum discounts available, and then find a dealer willing to give them the discount which in reality is a win for the dealer since they more than likely would have given a bigger discount if the buyer had any negotiating skills at all.

I don't think it's a marketing scheme, and here is why. The mark down on the Chevy site is a discount from GM. The dealers no doubt still have the full markup in the car at that advertised price. That means you should be able to negotiate well into the dealers markup beyond the price above.

That is how the 20% discount on 2016s worked a couple of months ago. If all anyone got was 20% off MSRP, the dealers still made a boatload of margin on them.

Thanks for the info. But, I try not to look at it as it has the distinct possibility of getting me into deep doodoo.

I still think GM is just giving everyone supplier pricing and Dealer still pays same invoice ...

But if you are correct .. the dealers that are already giving 15% discount + $2K owners loyalty + now another 7% with this deal... we are talking about 25% off sticker on brand new 2017 C7's ... that would really **** off a lot us 2017 owners who just purchased if Chevy is truly dumping inventory ...

Is it perhaps that some dealers are offering 15% off because to them it's only 8% as the first 7% is from GM? Or is it like supplier pricing where if you use that program the price is final, no other discounts?

At -25% off MSRP, ordering a new 2017 C7, to my exact specifications, I'm ready-to-buy - like Monday.

Any Chevrolet dealer in DFW, Texas that wants to sell me one Monday, PM me.

Absolutely no way GM is putting their dealers in that position.

As to dealers "already giving 15% discount", it's all a matter of what program GM has going now versus a few weeks ago. For dealers to give 15% there had to be a behind the scenes incentive to the dealers. That program is probably being replaced with this new program. There is no way to know though what all is going on behind the curtains between GM and the dealers. But you can't just assume that you can stack a December program on top of the November program, or whatever time frame there are/were in.

I wouldn't hold your breath in that being correct. Even the biggest dealers end of year blowout pricing of the leftover 2016's wasn't a full 25% off msrp...

Heck, I'll order a 2017 built to my specs too if they are 25% off the sticker... Wishful thinking.

last week at Maculkin you get 13 percent off if you custom order..
lots of choice for delivery. factory/ museum pickup, or drop ship
to your local dealer... and no dealer fees.
if you took a car in stock 13.5 + 2000k corvette loyalty if you
currently own a vette.

I ordered mine in October from MacMulkin at 11% off MSRP. It's en route for courtesy delivery now. I have not paid yet, other than deposit.

Has anyone ever tried, successfully, to get them to honor a better price that they then offered after you made your initial deal?

I'd be super happy to get the 13% off!
