HD Radio
I have the 2LT pkg with the upgraded radio...... I don't receive the HD radio stations in my area???? when I do a "browse" it doesn't even show them. Do you need to do something special to receive HD radio?

If the car pictured in your avatar is yours, then you don't have HD radio.

HD radio is over-rated, no wonder they dropped it. That said, there isn't anything special that has to be done to the best of my knowledge, don't recall any option that needs to be enabled.

So what is the answer to his question. I have HD in my 14 also but never used it. Is it an auto scan or are we missing something? Since I use XM, USB or Bluetooth. Is there something that needs to be done?
Thanks

No, you don't have to do anything. Since your radio is hd capable, if it picks up an am or fm station that's broadcasting in hd that's what you'll hear.

You must enable HD Switching on the radio menu to get your first HD station. After that, it is automatic.

My 2014 had HD radio and it was great. MY 2016 Focus ST has it and its great ... it does suck my 2017 GS doesn't have it ... Just about every radio statio in Atlanta is HD and it does sound better.

My 2014 Stingray and 2017 XT5 have HD and that is all we listen to. A local station broadcasts Oldies on an HD frequency that cannot be listended to by a non-HD radio. I based the decision on purchasing the XT5 on it having HD. If it did not, I would have purchased a Lincoln MKX which has HD.

Couldn't disagree more. HD Radio is leaps and bounds better. I think it's inexcusable that they pulled it.

HD is the one feature that I sacrificed when I upgraded to my 2017. There is only one station that I actually lost, the other stations were not any good anyway.

I'm glad to see so many coming to the "rescue" of HD Radio. I'm lucky enough to own a 2014 C7 with that function available.
Currently, as a radio disc jockey of 38 year here in Kansas City, HD Radio is MUCH better than standard radio. The quality is indeed a lot better! I'm sad that other C7's do not have this function.

But, the radio reception during switching is crap, sometimes the feed is dropped altogether. It only works well when the station signal is very strong, when you are in an area where the signal is week, it is better to turn HD Switching off to avoid problems.

^^^^No issues like that in Atlanta area. Like I stated previously my Focus has HD radio and it works great and that's my DD. Never issues in my 2014 C7 when I had it.

Lisa, I've never experienced the issue that you're talking about.....

I live about 50 miles from DC and Annapolis, and the signals from stations there that have HD are pretty weak. I turn it off except when I drive north. It works well when I'm closer into either of those areas, however.
FM stations in general here suck; it's probably one of the main reasons I subscribe to XM. I don't even get enough through-put to listen to Pandora. Small price to pay to live where it's gorgeous, though.
