Default Front page coverage

Interesting comparison, figured the front page would think so too...

Both great rides. I'd take an F type R & a Z06

My Shaguar is a 67 E type. Love it

She's a beauty. It looks big cus of the long hood but when you sit in it it feels like a small LOTUS. it's spooky being in a herd of SUVs but she's fast & agile enough to leave them in the dust.

Tricky thing is the baloon tires. I've always driven low profile tires so driving on baloon tires is like learning a new language.

Both? My toy is a C5 vert. My daily driver is the Jag F-Pace SUV.

Thanks. The F-Pace is a blast. Drives like a sedan that sits up a bit. It's quick and nimble - like a cat!

GS Pro's:
Removable Top
Manual Transmission
I imagine its much cheaper to maintain for its lifetime

Jag Pro's:
UNIQUE (how many R badges do you see in a month, MAYBE 1)
More power
That exhaust note tho...

PS. I know there are going to be people that say go with the Z06 but I have done insurance inquiries of all and the Z06 is outrageous.
I like how the Jag sounds; they engineered it to backfire on purpose and that's cool in my book. But I don't think it looks as good as a GS and it's certainly not the performer the GS is, either, so GS for me (and I voted with my wallet):

Ah. So how do you like it? Any gripes? I know the C7 is a different beast than the C6, and you don't have the R badge but I'd be curious on your thoughts

That's a base model V6, still supercharged w/ 340HP.

I think it's the sweet spot for best handling of the F-Types, as it weighs about 400 lbs. less than an R model, and it has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. I also think the V6 exhaust note is in some ways much more impressive, as it has a much more exotic sound, but still with all the snap, crackle and pop. It's also available as a manual unlike any of the V8s.

A good friend of mine has his manual V6 tuned to 430HP, and it's a beast, but is still as drivable on the street as in OEM tune. The OEM supercharged V6 has tremendous additional potential.

It is cool, but I wonder if it might become annoying after awhile and/or might become a sound LEO might listen for.

Best POV of the F-Type IMO.
The rear is so distinctive...unlike anything out there.

IIRC, Pobst said something similar(?)

I think you're onto something there.

Salem,

The fireworks never got old for me, but it's also possible to tone it down just by keeping your foot out of it when appropriate. Like the C7, it can be driven relatively quietly.

The ECM was purposely programmed to inject a little extra fuel upon deceleration, which detonates in the exhaust system. It's most prominent when lifting at higher rpms.

I had a lot of fun in the tunnels under the National Mall and Capitol Bldg, in Washington, DC, but was sometimes concerned I'd generate a "national security alert."
