Do you think C7 has been less reliable than prior generations?
I post this question because it seems like C7 has extended on going issues well into the fourth model year. All new generation cars have issues the first couple years but C7 seems to me at least is like the energizer bunny the issues keep going and going. I would like to see what you think. I'm convinced this car has more issues than it should have at this price point. I have owned new C5s a fourth model year C6 and all were as solid as a bank vault. In fact my C6 was never in for service beyond oil changes.

Mines a year old with 9000 miles and I've had zero issues. It's been pretty damned reliable for me!

2024 Corvette of the Year Finalist - Unmodified

2020 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
2019 C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods)
you need to factor in the total production volume numbers for each year for an accurate comparison.................. a lot more C7's produced in 2014 - 2016 than prior generations.............

Night and day compared to my early C6. Over 50 shop days on that love affair! Next month I go in for the second oil change and this will be its second shop visit.

No more than any other generation. Also first production cars in a new generation don't always have more problems than later model years. Back in the day when designs were done on a drawing board that could be true but with computer aided design tools a lot of the design errors that don't show up until production starts are eliminated before the design is released for production.
The C7 seems to be very reliable when you look at the failures being reported. Yes, they did have an issue with lubrication fill on rear diffs and a problem with the oil in dry sump engines but those have been resolved. The overheating issue that only affects people driving on the track has been over blown to some degree because most track drivers aren't having an overheating issue.
Unlike CR and other problem tracking entities I don't put customer problems with programming their on board electronics into a failure mode. The vast majority of those issues fall into the typical kind of problem that computer users have which is did they plug it in before trying to operate.

Supporting "kaplana08" response' Consumer Reports is rating the C7 as #2 in the reliability category. Have had my '14" since May 14, 28,000 miles, been on 6 or 7 lengthy road trips and no issues.

Was that a kind act, or did you want her to buy a lemon car?

If you check online, the C7 was listed as #5 by C/R as one of 20 most unreliable cars of 2016.

No issues ever on my '14.
I think the A8 issue has affected the reliability numbers for later model years, even though most A8 owners haven't reported issues.

My 2008 and now my 2015 have been perfect. On the other end I had a C3 and a C4 and both were full of problems.
From what I have read the A8 transmission has been an ongoing problem.

Minor electronic issues, it's also the most advanced Corvette ever made therefore it will have a few growing pains, it is the test bed for future generations.

I've also seen these ratings flip and flop from year to year, which calls into question the reliability of the consumer report data they collect. Consumers often don't know what they're talking about.
