No offense, why are people from El Paso, TX so ignorant? I mean it's not like you can't read........wait, never mind. I'm 50 and paid cash to put two kids through college.....it's not like......oh wait...he's only 30. I remember that I knew everything when I was 30 too. Lots to learn in the next 20 years of life.

I was 26 when I bought my first Corvette (1977).
Just traded my 2004 Z06 for a 2014 Stingray.
How old do you have to be?

That's what the wife's car is for.

It's one of the reasons that Vettes may have many owners.Buy 'em when single, get married and have a fam....and there goes the Vette,at least for many people.

Many times ppl in their 20's and 50's+ have the most discretionary income and /or savings.

At least that's what I see with some of my financial clients.

Because I am not saving it for my children who have no interest in Corvettes.

The ability to buy an expensive car grows exponentially the older you get. You don't see many adults under 30 in anything over 30k on average. Millennials flock to public transportation and cheaper cars.

I had my first Corvette when I was 21 years old and have owned Corvettes for many years. Most owners have families and that keeps them from having a Corvette in the earlier years. It's all about priorities. Families have many more options in the 4 door or SUV group than ever before. If you need a good SUV there are all kinds of high horsepower vehicles, pickups, four doors, and SUV's that are just as fast or faster than a C-6 Corvette. It takes a good family car to beat a base C7 Corvette however there are some good options out there.

Generally speaking, if you plot your net worth over time, the older you are the higher your net worth is and the more likely you can indulge yourself with a car you don't actually need.

Honestly, because it is out of range price wise to the average person. I mean the average yearly salary earned in this country by people is barely, if even half of what those cars cost I believe.

I don't know exact numbers, but isnt the average income like 30k a year if even? Take into account living expenses at that salary for people, there is no room for a new corvette anywhere in the equation lol.

I bought my C5 at 32, my C6 at 37, and my C7 at 43. I bought all of them new. When i had my C5 people would ask me if it was my "Dad's car", to which i could respond "yeah he wishes it was". Nobody asks me that anymore and most people call me Sir now instead of a-hole or whatever it was back then

I was 23 when I bought my first one in 1967.....I traded in a 1965 Olds 442(my first NEW car) on it....OTD it was $2127.00 with the trade and I still have the paper work. I have had 4 more since then.....As a "Older Gent" I was hooked on Corvettes at a early age and drove them through my life. As for me...every time I get in my 2016 Z51 Vert....I feel 23 again.

I believe this to be true, not European sports car money but still a lot of cash for most. BTW, I'm 65! lol

Well I can't speak for everyone else but I have an incredibly small ***** that I have to compensate for.

In all seriousness now I believe it's the same reason young people don't ride Harley's, they simply can't afford them. Beyond that I think the Gen Xers are still raising families and some have just never learned what cool really is.

Ever wish you had the 442 back? I had one years ago and wish I'd kept it.

Its a very simple answer. Because most younger people cannot afford a corvette. Corvettes are generally "second or third" cars. Young people are raising a family, need larger cars (suvs) ect. Older people generally have more money, are established and smarter so they can afford the extra toy. Again, these are generalities and does not apply to every person.
