What did you do to your C7 today?

Safety Car
Replaced the brake pads with the low dust Z26 pads.
Tired of cleaning the wheels every 100 miles.
Also painted the wheel barrels of chrome wheels gloss black. It sets off the chrome wheels, easier to clean, and some what hides the dis-coloration due to brake dust.

Wish there was a kit to make the install of pulse brake lights possible, as I had in my C6. Looks like to install have to remove the rear bumper and "guess" at the wiring with one of the splice-in cheap modules.

I liked the "waterfalls" on the C5s, but for the C7 the current offerings aren't what I'm after. Seems a bit large and transition to the console isn't my style. I saw where others placed the emblem directly on the carpet, but I wanted a something for it to mount on, provide a more finished look. Both looked alright, but neither was what I was after.
I initially made a piece, basically an inverted trapezoid since the space between the seats forms a "V". It just looked too basic and didn't flow into the console.
Started over and created a new piece, using leather on the outside and an inverted trapezoid in the center, with a recess for the emblem to fit into. To my eye, matches the style of the rest of the interior and seems to fit well in the space.
Since I had to create it using multiple materials, it wasn't that durable, so molded it and did a urethane cast. Painted and used some CF vinyl in the center. Got an extra emblem (rear) off ebay and mounted it into the piece. It has tabs at the bottom that go under the console and uses velcro (hook side) to "stick" to the carpet.
The good thing is, I can cast up a few of them and finish each slightly different (carbon flash, carbon fiber, car color, or whatever else in the center section), also can use different emblems (chrome or carbon flash). Then can swap them out anytime I want to change up the style.

Wife and I went hiking with a group of friends...took her CRV to the hiking trailhead...
Got back home with lots of daylight left and decided to get in the Vette and head down to our favorite waterfront hangout...
All in all, a great day in the Pacific Northwest.

Reminds me of the placement of the C5 emblem on my 2002 Torch Red Coupe...right there just below the rear hatch glass. I liked it there because I'd push down on that to close the hatch instead of touching the paint.
Looks good.

I tried moving it around, placing it towards the trunk more and even in the middle. The top, closer to the bk window just seems to flow the best and look more like factory from all angles.

I took advantage of temps in the high-60's this morning and changed my oil! Nothing worse than sweating like crazy doing an oil change when it's always 90+ outside come July. Last change was in August 2016 and my OLM was below 20% so it was time.

Thanks, I like to try and perform all modifications as scratch built (when feasible). Makes it truly custom and provides that sense of self built pride.
