Replaced trunk light bulbs with LEDs.
Installed Uniden R3. I'm just using the suction mount for now, but I'll do a real install eventually.

Mind if I ask what kind of cost I should expect for the Z51 OEM tires?
Price for OEM tires was $47.75 per tire

Put my summer only tires back on the car. First time I've had the Forgelines on since they were powder coated.

Nice.

BTW, you might want to put a coat of white primer on those garage walls to protect the paper surface from moisture. Builders tend to cheap out by not doing this, but it's better for the drywall to protect it.

And since you're retired, you have the time.

velcro'd the rear fuse panel cover down.

I leave it on during transport to haul stuff in the hatch and remove it when on track.

Velcro seemed like a no brainer.

Storm is gone 46 deg, partial sun in Jersey. Took the Vert out for a ride and hit 500 miles on odometer while listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird on XM ch.30.

Definitely can hear the difference. At WOT almost as loud as NPP! Tadge in a post essentially said GM can't let the OEM system be that loud to pass US and European "drive by" sound requirements.

Expected that as my Prostreet Rod with a 502/502 big block Chevy has long tube headers, 3 inch pipes going into Borla straight though mufflers that exit before the rear wheels. It's tubbed with 4 bar link rear so no room to fit pipes past that. It has a 14 inch diameter, 5 inch high K&N oiled cotton air filter. At WOT the "sucking sound" is louder than that very loud exhaust!

As far as feeling what is probably 12 to 15 hp, did not expect I would and can't say I do. I get that hp number this way:

First, a forum member posted his before and after a aFe install dyno numbers. He used their higher restriction paper filter not the lower restriction oiled cotton I have. He got 10 hp difference.

aFe published a 17 hp gain in an LT1 with the filter I have. They also show a 16 ft-lb torque gain starting at about half that at 3500 rpm and increasing to redline.

That is how I estimate I achieved from 12 to 15 hp!

I look at the economics, this way. I paid $1100 for NPP in my 2014 Z51 and got 5 hp and noise. Paid less than half that for the aFe system and got min ~12 hp and noise! Only about 25% of the cost per hp gain!

Another benefit is I just cleaned the filter when I took the system off my 2014 when I sold it and installed it on my Grand Sport! Don't every have to buy another air filter and I have a clear window in the filter housing so can look at the cleanliness without taking it apart! Great value.

The larger aFe air filter uses a larger housing. It has a clear plastic window so easy to check for dirt!

Looks nice, a little lowering in the back would add to its good looks.

Put a new interstate battery from Costco in to change the original out of my '14. What a PITA, my back hurts. I refused to buy a tool to just hold a battery and improvised. Ended up using my dog's leather leash to pull that behemoth out. I've pulled engines/trans, suspensions, etc. before and would say this was a terrible task.

I don't feel so bad now. My odometer still reads 5 miles as it has since last December. More of that white **** tonight.
