Temps in the 70's so it was time for a road trip. Drove to Weatherford, OK with wife to have lunch at Lucille's Roadhouse and then went to the Stafford Air & Space Museum. Took the scenic way home via old Route 66.

Cleaned the garage and gave the vette a thorough cleaning, inside and out, and put her to bed for the year.

Had the oil and filter changed, filled the gas tank, added stabilizer, pumped up the tires to 38 PSI, hooked up the battery tender, cleaned, waxed and covered. To bed till April of '18.

its a shame you guys don't drive them for 1/2 the year. They have windshield wipers, and heated seats for a reason! ha

considering the state of my summer only tires 1 year into driving on them, I'll be working from home on the very rainy days. My MPSS wet Traction after some vigorous driving months + idiots who don't the basic concept of the coefficient of friction = dangerous road even in los angeles.

It's not that. When they don't plow the neighborhoods its difficult to traverse the roads (ground clearance) this is an issue for any car which sits low.

Otherwise it's the salt and road grime. Winter is TOUGH on cars. Very abusive. So if you can't (or won't) drive it every day in the winter, it's best to garage it for 4-6 months to keep it from having to be beaten on.

Got my 2 piece 10” Race Ramps Wheel Cribs from Fred at Reverse Logic. Great guy to deal with, very helpful and shipped out far quicker than I expected.

Will spend this weekend cleaning the car, putting it on the cribs and putting it away for the season.

Thought I was doing many things day 1 but you have me beat! Below are some old posts.

Mods Day One:

Got the Grand Sport home late the previous night and spent 15 hours yesterday: 1) installing ceramic brake pads, 2) since it was jacked up installed a CAGS Eliminator, 3) ACS front and GM rear splash guards, 4) Jake center wheel caps, 5) Vette valve caps and wheel locks (taken from the 2014 I sold) and 5) fixed the cup holder so it would not spill in a 1" "g" turn! Also fumbled through settings to get the NPP in full time Track Mode, Steering in always Sport Mode and finally figured out to get the flush mount thumb drive with over 1000 "oldies" to play in Shuffle Mode! Had to transfer from the SD card used in the 2014! I have that play as soon as I start the car. My method of drowning out road/tire noise! Just set the 10 inch sub-woofer for rear bias!

The cup holder mod it easy and quick. Remove the ~3/32 rubber mat from the bottom (yep it just pulls out) and use small fillet of UV activated plastic adhesive to attach the center divider to the base on both sides! Then the divider will not tilt and you have 3/32 inch more depth. A few felt pads and my Vette Logo water bottle holds snug. Have tested in my 2014 may times with a full bottle! Can handle a 1+ "g" stop- no problem.

This Was the List After 8 Weeks:

OEM brake pads replaced with Carobtech 1521 pads,
CAGS Eliminator,
GM Jake wheel center caps,
Wheel Locks,
