Just installed the 08-28-17 Firmware, and my custom Plush pdts file with USB cable and every step went without a hitch.
Just returned from a 30 mi ride and it Seemed to ride and handle Slightly better with very limited bounce.
Hard to tell where any other improvements might be without a longer ride but I'm happy

I'm considering ordering a DSC controller... One question: Are there any negatives associated with removing the DSC controller and replacing it with the OEM controller? My only concern at this point is about future warranty work. I've read many of the comments in this thread about warranty, so have a good overall feeling, but if I was having issues that needed warranty service I'd like the ability to swap back the stock parts. Other than the time associated with the removal, reinstalling/setting-up the DSC again afterwards, etc... would swapping the controller back cause any problems?

There were a few bugs in the old firmware. Most of these were corrected with the firmware update released a couple of weeks ago. However, one of the bugs snuck through that update. Increasing the value in the Velocity table would decrease the damping and vice versa. Mike confirmed this and this latest update is supposed to address that. I haven't yet installed the update so I can't confirm it, and I don't know if there are any other updates in the firmware. If this is the only change a work around would be to reverse the signs in the Velocity table if you don't want to update the firmware. I tried this last weekend but didn't really notice any difference at low G conditions (it may have ridden a little rougher but that is subjective). I switched back because I didn't know if there would be any adverse affects when driving under high G conditions. This latest update should now allow you to get the expected results when you make changes in the Velocity table.

Your's is not the most current. Mike sent me a revised one Monday, 8/28, to test as I was on vacation and planned on running the car all day in the twisties. It tested great with further velocity improvements. He discovered an error in the one released on I believe 8/14. The 8/28 was not in Jordan's possession/computer prior to Monday, 8/28.

Yes, unfortunately I learned that this morning from Jordan. It's back to DSC since I don't have a Windows laptop.

Really not a big deal considering you're getting a constantly evolving and improved product. I'm sure your professional background has demonstrated many companies who ignore problems or errors found rather than admit they had an error in their product, invest the time to develop a solution and provide it for free to current customers.
Also, it LITERALLY took me less than 5 minutes to load the new firmware and then reload my pdts file. I actually timed it and it took less than 5 minutes. Very, very simple even for a non-techie such as myself.
Rick
P.S. Ooops, I just read you don't have a windows computer. Hard to imagine you don't have a friend, neighbor or ??? with one you could borrow for a few minutes. Maybe buy one an old used one off eBay for $50? However, I know you're really just looking for an excuse to go hang around the TPC/DSC shop as it's a fun place and you can drool over the TracTive shocks some more.

Oh yes, I completely understand and appreciate the openness with which Mike handles this product. I know this is an evolving product. I was only bitching a little bit that I drove there to have firmware update 1 day before a new one is released, and no one in the shop knew about it. Of course, Mike was at VIR.
Since I'm pretty happy with the improvement with the new, now old, firmware, I think I'll wait a couple of months until Mike's latest creative burst settles down, and this really is "the last firmware update for awhile."
And yes, I'd rather just drive there and have them do it, since I'm so close.

Quick questions:
Will DSC do an install of their controller unit in my Mag Ride equipped C7 on somewhat short notice, if I am driving through there on my return from MacMulkin Chev?
Is there an up charge for them to do the installation above the cost of the controller? If so, how much?

FYI: contrary to my previous post from last night.
Went for an 85 mile drive today to get a better feel for the 08-28-17 Firmware with my custom Tour Plush file.
Most noticeable difference is it rides a "bit" stiffer in Tour at slower speeds.
Everything being relative it's not bad, just not quite as Smooth as it was with the 08-14-17 Firmware.
More tinkering to come

P.S. Did I mention this is VERY important.

And yes, as Rick said, the proper alignment is VERY important.

I know Mike is a perfectionist, and I love him for that, but I think we may be losing some perspective here.

^ Clay, I might be missing your point
But are you referring to making changes to pdts files, or recent multiple Updates to the Firmware.
There were problems in the Original Firmware in the Velocity table.
DSC fixed this with the 08-14-17 Firmware, but one Bug remained.
Hence the reason for the 08-28-17 Firmware which should be good now.
In my Quote, I wanted to alert others that are modifying their files.
Some of us, and I presume Mike too, are tweaking pdts Files, but in different "modes", for different reasons.
But, the 08-28-17 Firmware changed how the pdts files work now, modified or not.
In my case, I'm trying to perfect Tour Mode to my liking.
Sport and Track are fine IMO.
With the 08-14-17 Firmware, my Tour mode was perfect for "me" .
My friend down the street is also running my Tour pdts file in his Base Vert / MSRC and likes it.
With the 08-28-17 Firmware installed, he also mentioned a slightly stiffer ride now.
With that feedback, at least I know it's not my imagination
Either way, now we can modify our files knowing the Firmware is working correctly.
YMMV
PS: Yes, it's very possible we actually are OC

I sure wish I waited to update my firmware. Not a big issue but then again not really what I want to do every weekend. So when you update the firmware and the eprom that loads a PDTS file at that time. Last time I reloaded my previous PDTS file I was running which was Mikes VIR file. I'm going to cut a little door in my fender I gave up on WIFI too as it was inconsistent.

yeah wifi kinda sucks. I think it takes less time to take my wheel off and access it via USB than wifi.

It takes about 45 seconds for me to upload an entire file over Wifi.
It takes me a full 10 minutes to remove, flash firmware, and reinstall.
Outside of firmware updates, Wifi is good for me!
