I really wonder whether the Service Manager would agree with that. He/She is responsible for the profits in the Service Area and turning away Customers is the wrong way to get profits. Sales and Service are usually two different profit centers in a dealership.

i worked for Jeep/Chrysler back in the 90's one of the two dealerships (both sold same one in SINY and the other in BKLYN), in SINY, was owned by a guy who started out as a salesman and grew the business into a decent place.
this guy was very on top of what cars came in service.. if he saw a Non dealership sold vehicle ahead of a dealership sold vehicle on the list to get into the shop he would lose his mind.
They never "refused" to work on the non dealership sold vehicles but made it well known to the owners that if you buy from them you get in first appointment or not.. and in the summer, when chrysler LH vehicles were eating evaps daily?? people didn't want to hear it..
several times the owner himself threw people out of the dealership when someone requested the dealer principal when the policy was explained to them lol
the dealership in BKLYN couldn't care less... that was part of an auto group and paid me a heck of a lot more money (why i left the first one) for the same job working less hours.
the SINY dealership is long gone and the one in BKLYN is still there... should tell you which way works and which way doesn't...
fix the cars.... all of them.
i've had the local dealership to me (Lester Glenn auto group) who've sold me plenty of cars and trucks as well as family over decades take great care of me even when they couldn't close the deal.
last year, one of the owner's Adam, during a final negotiation said to me (couldn't match 27 month lease $189/mo, no money out, tax and DMV in payment on a Malibu LT for my Daughter) WILL YOU AT LEAST LET ME SERVICE THE VEHICLE?
that's a class act right there.. he said same thing when earlier they couldn't match a lease for my wife's All Terrain Sierra (due to $3k lease cash bonus tag i found up in north jersey).

They recently lost my business but a lot of people seem to have had good experience with them. Definitely need to shop around to find the right car at the right price.

Interesting thread! It's really cool to hear everyone's story's buying experience. With all the big discounts %'s off msrp from the big inventory dealers, is there really much more room to negotiate?

I'm looking for a deal and a car like yours. A convertible C7 in stock, heavily discounted, equipped exactly as you want it, right down to it's color.

It's Ironic that in the Real World car dealers have very small margins on New Cars.
In my business I have a 90% profit margin.
Apple makes 41%, Microsoft 40%, etc...
Jewelers have a 50%+ markup, furniture, and so forth.
Can any car dealer here tell me/us how much the average actual markup is per vehicle sold?
I say it's 7% and less.

They had ones with, and they had ones without... Mine was just the one roof (Body color) that I wanted.

AWESOME! Congrats! I guess they made up for not returning your car in a timely fashion

$11,000 off a base C7 1LT after figuring in $2K owner loyalty. Not another forum vendor even came close by a wide margin.

Not true. Check their inventory.
I will add that Macmulkins drags their feet. Tried calling yesterday and was placed on hold and after a few minutes I hung up. Today I emailed them. Then I called, placed on hold again. Finally left a voice message for someone to answer.
As of this time I never heard back from any one at the dealership.
