Looked like my drive last week. Not ready yet unless they don't salt in your area.

You be careful Joe. I'm not worried about your driving, but you know there are many idiots out there that can't even drive on dry roads.

No salt here.

I hear ya! I was out in my van surveying the traffic. Hardly any at all. The one's that are driving are going about 15 to 20 MPH. Just going to cruse the neighborhood main streets, etc.
See how it handles on packed snow. Fortunately the temp is below freezing.

No salt is good, cold not so much. These tires have hardly any traction below 50F (10C) so really do be careful.

^^^ So true. As we say, the last words out of a Rednecks is "Hey ya'll, watch this."

No salt you are aware of. I heard on a local station today that salt was shipped to Portland from Seattle but no one wanted to admit to it cause of the flak your local government would get if they admitted using it.

If you have little to no experience in snow why take a chance? Seriously - it isn't worth it. That small amount of snow will be gone before you know it - you crack your car up and you'll live it forever (or at least until you get rid of it). Risk / reward.

Yeah. No problem. Drove around town on the main streets. Packed snow. Went to the outskirts of town in a big empty parking lot and tested the traction and how the car handled. Very well I might say. Got back home and put her back in the garage and will go out again in the morning with less traffic to get in the way. Drivers were pretty good today. Going slower than normal and keeping distances between cars. As far as salt goes. It was announced a few days ago where they were going to use it if needed. I wasn't in any of those areas. Those areas listed were in Southwest Portland for the most part and I didn't go over there. There are some steep hills in residential areas there. There was gravel in some places, but it was covered with snow or deeply ground into by now. I didn't go on the freeways because the cars were going fast enough to throw the gravel. But I enjoyed it since it had been a few days since I was able or willing to drive. Weather mode did a very nice job.

Joe, you are a brave man, Portland drivers and snow are a disaster waiting to happen.
Hope it went ok.

You mean that you are not slapping on a set of "winter" tires and then going for a 75 MPH romp(looking for Hellcats to do a 50-150 MPH roll race) on I-435 in your C7 in the middle of the ice storm we are having?

Why, according to some on this forum(not you), that's what Corvettes were designed for.

You need to look in the C5 section...."Must be a Vette Owner". Try that in a C7 with summer tires

I have to wait a while for two reasons. First, I'm on top of a very steep mountain which is now mainly an ice road. Second, all the main roads are heavily graveled.
