Removable roof was not a deciding factor in purchasing the vehicle. It just happened to be part of the car. Took the roof off a couple of time just to see how it looked and drove. Probably won't use it much. Maybe it is just me, but I don't seem to be in such a hurry these days to not make sure the roof is latched properly.

There are 3 clips (2 front, 1 back). If any 1 or 2 are not secure, does the roof still fly off?

I have heard (on a few occasions) of one of the front latches unlatched, but never 2 of the 3. In cases where one latch is not latched, increased speeds will usually lead to hearing air whistling in the cabin and can cause parts to bend, but the roof won't come off. If only the rear latch is secured, it can lift up perpendicular to the vehicle and may break loose.

In my case, all 3 were unlatched before the roof went verticle

Given high speed or a big bump, I suppose it *could* bounce loose with only 1 latch 'latched'. But under normal speeds or roads, I don't see how such a tight fitting heavy panel would 'fly off' even with only 1 latch latched. But I wouldn't guarantee that!

Preferable to keep all 3 latched!
