Default #454 here. New Member. 1st post.

Purchased in November 2018 from my father-in-law who was the original owner. He just got bored with it I guess. He owns several cars at a time and goes through them pretty quick, so when I heard he was about to trade his GS in, I couldn't let that happen. Coupe, no Z07. It has 2960 miles. I will try to post a pic of it later to show you the unique mod.

Default Satin black stripe touch up

Does anyone have a paint code for the satin black center stripe? I seem to have a small chip that that is white and is driving me nuts.

Thanks

I don't believe there are paint codes for any of the vinyl decals. Might be a cleaner solution to replace the stripe.

Default #454 paying homage to the original GS

The stripes and hash marks have been painted - so no decals. So what do y’all think?

Can you let me know the city/state the car is located in so I can update the registry?

Thanks. Looks like you and your son had a great road trip. My son looks about the same age. He calls the GS the ‘bad wagon’.

My transport delivery driver annihilated my stripes so I ended up purchasing 4 of the 6 pieces from Trunk Monkey, cheapest place to get them. Still was like $500 for the 4 pieces, stupid. Anyways, that's how I replaced my couple pieces. I think the hood is like $150-$200.

Thanks for the info! I just hate to replace the entire stripe (roof panel only) for one small 1/8" chip. I might play around with some paint and post back with some codes that are close.

I REALLY like the idea of painting on the stripes. If something ever happens to mine I've always planned on having the stripes painted instead. For me I would probably keep the satin black center stripe as I really dig how that looks, but this is a great look too and it looks like they did a nice job!

PPG Paint code for "Tension" Blue is 922601, so I've heard.
I painted my air intake, didn't like the brush marks so covered most with
a skull decal, photo to follow when it's over 55 degrees out.

It's was great to take the GSCE to Daytona, my wife does the driving.

Before we get to the photos, I want to give a shout-out to these two Corvette owners.

That’s not a vanity plate on the back of this 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition, it’s a wheel-chair carrier that’s been bolted to the frame of the car. The couple who owns this Collector Edition Grand Sport doesn’t let physical limitations keep them from enjoying their Corvette together with friends. Great talking with you and I appreciate your purchase of my book Corvette Special Editions which features a ’17 GS Collector Edition on the cover!

I sent you a PM. Curious if you would be interested in buying my tires, 10K miles. I can email photos.
