Congrats to this thread hitting the big 2000!

Always great to see the CE in photos and in person...speaking of which, I haven't personally seen a CE since George Matick had about 8-10 of them allocated to their dealership. Most of them (I believe) went to out-of-towners. Does anyone in Michigan actually own one?

Haha, thanks! Nothing on it yet. Just freshly cleaned on a B-E-A-UTIFUL day. I'm hoping to get it ceramic coated this summer, but also looking into other options to protect the finish.

That picture was taken back in September as mine is also away for the winter. Can't wait to get it out!

Well my time with the CE has come to an end. If anyone would like #627 I sold it to Corvettes of Houston. They're offering it for $59.9k it looks like.

IMO it was well taken care of, no garage queen or anything, but always garaged, just the once a week trip to work when the weather was good. I'm definitely sad to see it go, but my replacement is fun too, so not all bad.

Default Corvettes of Houston

I see they have number 389 as well.. good price low miles for an automatic convertible 98 MSRP to $69000 with 2000 miles that’s a heck of a drop.

makes me wonder what my convertible 7 speed number 395 would be at bought it at $79,700 on $92ish MSRP.

Happy MARCH everyone. I am so tired of winter. I have seen so much of that white stuff, have two high piles of snow at the end of drive. Taller than my wife. Any one else ready to take the Collector out that hasn't for some time. I am so ready for the road. Thanks everyone, just had to get it off my chest, had to get it out, come on spring........... well warmer weather. I need to get behind the wheel again, put top down and drive.
These Collectors are a great car, I really miss driving it.

I'm with you. So tired of winter I could scream. Have several projects on the car I want to do but can't drive it due to temp and snow. Isn't looking like it will get better in the next 2 to 3 weeks either

BTW, back on the 2,000 post thingy...

There are very few posts in this forum that have over 2,000 posts and most are not ones that people actively communicate in, they post their Arctic White car photo and move on

It's nice to have one of those cars that has it's own micro-community

Came across CE #299 today in Coral Springs FL... I was driving wifey Honda minivan...saw the CE from behind and luckily he stopped next to me. Told him sweet ride and I own CE #323. Pretty cool to see a CE in the wild other than my own beauty.

Over the winter I have ordered; Carbon Fiber Z07 Spoiler w/clear bridge, Carbon Fiber stage 2 splitter, Carbon Fiber Spats, Etched "Blue Glow Light" wind restrictor, Sandiaggo
dog car handles, Sandiaggo seat belt stays, black door edge guards, I'm sure I'm missing some small stuff.
Too bad I can't install anything, it snowed AGAIN last night and my baby CE # 663 has been under wraps since November.
I plan on selling my Carbon Flash stuff, some in just good condition in the spring.

Thanks, will be good to hear which one. Right now I am only in contact with one person in Dubai and there's is a pretty unique one as it is a Callaway conversion. There are 10 tagged as "middle east" shipment and most were pretty loaded (6 with comp seats, all were A8 Coupes with Z07 packages and interestingly most had red calipers as well).

So after all of this time of people owning, modifying, driving, and even trading in their CE's, according to mountainears' Google Sheet, there's still 6 new 2017 CE's (in this country) up for sale. If this is current, any takes on the last sold new Collector's Edition in the US?
  1. #378 - Reno, NV @ 97k
  2. #559 - Torrence, CA @ 92k
  3. #615 - San Jose, CA @ 89k
  4. #668 - Tulsa, OK @ 89k
  5. #829 - Torrence, CA @ 89k
  6. #934 - Newport, TN @ 83k
Added Notes:
  • All are A8s. Numbers 668 and 829 are convertibles.
  • Numbers 559 and 829 are from the same dealership.
  • Numbers 559, 615, 668, are not shown on their websites so they might have been sold.
  • The other vehicle from Torrence (which appears to be #829) is now going for about $73,000.
  • If the #668 is sold, #829 is the last new convertible.
  • Can't find #934. Their domain name expired

Numbers 559 and 829 are from the Chevy dealership near me! =) I live in Torrance with #596.

#559 (The non vert) indeed sold, but #829 (Vert) is still up for sale.

Really like this "Jake" - Spring is on it's way and my baby will be coming out of storage so I will be ordering one!! IMHO the cars are so classy that sometimes I think less is more. Looks great.

I think I might of shared with you on where I bought it on a private message. If not, call Mike at VetteStripes. He is great He will send you samples of the colors available.
Here is another photo. I also can't wait to get my corvette on the road again. I think my corvette (#28) is exactly the same as yours, except I don't have the Comp Seats. Being a sun baby corvette it might feel like its being punished under that cover and in our cold garage. We are expecting some warm weather next week so maybe in a few weeks it will get to see the sun. Also, just ordered a Swisstrax floor for my garage. Need it to get warmer to put it down. Will post pictures when completed.
