Default Another Registry Milestone

The registry now has over 800 cars identified and I have a great source for data now that should hopefully ensure that all 1,000 cars are identified from a configuration perspective (body style, transmission and Z07).

This includes cars that are going out of the country. Currently we've identified;
  • 722 in the United States
  • 55 in Europe
  • 2 in the United Kingdom
  • 8 in Canada
  • 7 in Japan
  • 15 in the Middle East

So getting close! Tracking them after the are sold, that will be more problematic, but at least we'll have this base level of info to draw from.

Thanks! 848 has been recorded in the registry though already. Keep on the hunt!

Just looked more closely though. They have two. 878 is also there and not in the registry, adding it now!

You may have seen my 2016 yellow camaro on All Girls Garage actually my wifes I have TT 5th gen that aired originally in Oct.. and again about 2 weeks ago..

Friend of mine bought a white GS like the 1st week they were out last july or August.. He asked if I would put in a word with the producer to see if he could get a blower or borla exhaust and a tv show episode.. So I pitched it like this to Matt, the producer... purchase a GS and have Z06 performance well.. The producer called me and said he has another ADD spot for and Edelbrock Eforce, this is 2 days after my friend that's pretty high in GM took a raise up in Michigan and traded out for a suburban..

So I found a nice couple little bit older at coffee n cars last week in Houston TX and he's having doubt about spending 85k and losing the warranty on his sebring Silver.. I have a good relationship w the producer I don't want to screw it up having a guy back out. I'm the 1st one he calls for camaro stuff, wheels, tires, ect.. I'd be willing to offer it to you!

He's all ready been talking with the older gentleman with the silver GS the producer really wants a the bad azz blue one..

I just joined the site but am well known on camaro6 and camaro5 as edfhobbies this site looks familiar or same web design atleast not sure there tied together..

Collector edition would work as well.. would like a houston resident but not necessarily..
did you ever find a car for the mod?

Default Another mystery solved - sill plates

Earlier in this thread there was a discussion around the Sill Plates that are on the Collector Edition cars. There are two photos I included in this post for reference. The first photo is what everyone that has seen this car is used to seeing, the Grand Sport sill plate with the lower stripe/word in a red color. This is also the sill plate that can be ordered for any Grand Sport. Then the second photo is of the prototype car from Geneva, you'll see the sill plate looks a little different, seems to be chrome on the top with the lower part white in color.

These picture variances, combined with how it is described in the Z25 package where it says the car includes "BE8 LPO Collector's Edition Sill Plates" made some of us think we either got the wrong sill plates or something changed in their plans from the prototype to production.

Well, thanks to forum member and CE #0279 owner eamespm I think we now know the real answer. He was lucky enough to attend the NCM Bash and was able to corner Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles and asked him about this using these photos that I sent over.

He said (this is not verbatim, but close) the Geneva car was a prototype and the Grand Sport sill plate was still being designed. The final decision on the colors for it had not yet been made. It sounds like they were just in a hurry and running out of time to get this car out there for people to see.

As far as the Collector Edition sill plate saying Collector Edition, or being unique from the Grand Sport one, that wasn't in the design. They just call it the Collector Edition sill plate even though it says Grand Sport and unique to this type car. That was the plan from day one.

So we're not missing out on anything, the plan was to make the Grand Sport sill plate an option for all Grand Sports, but for the Collector Edition models it was to be part of the package.

Hope that helps clear things up!

I would love to see someone change the red on the sill plates to blue. Also on the badge on the side of the car. I would buy the blue badges in a heartbeat.

Not on a CE, but there is someone that posted in the technical forums putting Matte White emblems on and how they did it. Seems like someone could easily change their emblem colors to blue in this way if they wanted to try it.

The sill plates might be a little more challenging but maybe with some of the color paint film that people are using on their cars it could be done.

I'm thinking there will be other "blue" things turning up in this thread from time to time. If people are making mods like that, please post them here! Like the blue striped wheels that Bill Cruthis did to his!

Do you have pics of the blue striped wheels? Would love to see them.
