Default FOB issue or something else?

I'll first admit I don't drive my 2014 C7 much, it's a Garage Queen. Now that I have that behind me, let me begin... I came back from a 2 week vacation, and wanted to take my beauty for a ride. To my surprise, both Key Fobs would not work?? Pressed every button and nothing?? My first thought was my battery was dead??? I used my key to open the rear hatch, Alarm goes off, I pull door release, and jump into car. Car started when I pushed the button???? I took the car for an extensive drive and tested FOBS again later with no issue. My Question is "What Happened?". I'm paranoid to leave the car parked for any length of time???

Exact same thing happened to me, albeit my second fob works fine after I was finally able to get in the car. It didn't work at first, thinking it was a dead battery, but it started right up once inside.

Batteries fade with age. I'd go out and spend the big bucks and replace both FOB batteries. This is 2017 and 2014 is a really long time for a battery to maintain it's potency!

Just last week, and last year. Took to dealer, no could find a problem. Changed fob battery, tried different fob,. Mine is 2014 queen too. Mine also goes into a false tire pressure monitor warning. Someone said fob has to go int e column to be re learned. Battery always on maintainer

OP, replace your fob batteries and all will be well. I have a 2014 too, and I had to replace my fob batteries a few months ago.

Did you buy the fob battery fresh 4 months ago or use one you had laying around?

And to add, it seems that lately, many "new" fob batteries come from the factory already weak.

Could very well be??? I assume when you buy a new battery at the store, it's new??? My issue is when the car did start, everything worked fine, both FOBs worked normally?? It's almost like the Car went into hibernation? Which led me away from thinking the fob batteries were the problem...
