Range AFM disabler
I have the unit with an extension on/off cable. What brand of double sided tape do you drivers use to keep it fastened under the dashboard area? I have tried the Scotch 2LB and 10LB and neither of those will hold the Disabler device. Any recommendations would be welcome. I don't want to be buying anymore of this tape and have it not work. Thanks.

Every time I am about ready to order a Range, I read another post by someone who is having CELs and other issues. I've adjusted my driving to using M mode most of the time around town. This seems to be a good option.

Mine has been in for 8 days with no issues at all. Mine plugs into the OBI port, has no on/off switch, and stays plugged in. This is a daily driver, but if using it on a garage queen it is recommended that it be unplugged as there is a very minimal current draw. No issues, no CEL lights, works flawlessly.

That is so weird.. I wonder why it doesn't like my 2016 z51. Could it have something to do with the 3 computer updates its had?

That said, the first 2 days I had an issue with the main screen changing on startup. I have non run flats and leave the screen set to the tire pressure, at every startup it would change to the default and I would have to set it back up. Now it is OK and remains there, kind of weird quirk.
Mine is a '15 Z51

Purchased directly from Range, with the latest production firmware. I didn't notice any glitches with the menu screens, other than that nice big CEL that was showing

I bought one from Range themselves for my '10 Yukon 5.3L.
No issues so far.
When AFM would kick in, i would intermittenly hear some brutal clatter.

It seems like some of us have no issues at all with the AFM on our cars, and others are experiencing the clatter and clunking when going from v4-48-v4. Is this just a quality control issue with GM, or will all of us sooner or later develop a problem with the AFM?

I only have had it a couple of days and no errors or codes. I bought the switch to turn it off without having to unplug it from the socket and possibly causing undo wear on the socket.

Hey guys! What about the tape I asked about in my original post? Thanks.

Well, not sure what you are trying to hang or how much it weighs, but that stuff is pretty good. My dash cam hangs from that stuff just to the right of my mirror and it has not come loose. Did you clean both sides well before sticking it? I used 3M trim tape.

Have had the Range afm disabler plugged in to my 2014 z51 almost as long as I have had it. I do use the on/ off cord, no codes no problems. It's great!

This is exactly what i did. Works great and costs $0. I've gotten used to having control over the shift points, very nice.

I had trouble with the Range giving me a CEL and the A8 trans stays in 4th gear. I sent it in and they sent me a updated module and it's been a week with no CEL. They told me to keep them in the loop if it acts up and to let other Corvette Forum members know to contact them to exchange for a updated one. I have a 2016 ZO6.

I also use velcro tape for mine so I can remove it. I did find while driving the Tail of the Dragon last summer that one of the clips I used to route and hold the switched extension cable wasn't as securely attached as I originally thought

Hi Joe,
I used 3M adhesive velcro tape. I stuck a piece on the left side below the dashboard (see pic) then stuck a piece on Range AFM Disabler. After I attached the AFM Disabler to the OBD extension cable I simply stick it against the left side Velcro.
