How to achieve more pops and crackles
Ive got a 15 Z51 A8 C7, When I release the gas right before the third gear, there's a low chance that my car will give off a couple loud bangs. Backfire or crackles I would say.
but that's not enough, I need more. What can I do to achieve more crackles?
Downpipes? Muffler delete? Borla Atak muffler exhaust?
Thanks a lot!

The noise you hear during over-run (when you lift off throttle under mid and high RPMs) can sound like crackling, burbling, popping, etc, and happens when you have hot high-speed exhaust gasses that is immediately followed by cooler, low speed exhaust gases. The pressure difference between the two equalizing pressure zones traveling down the length of the exhaust causes that awesome noise that we all love to hear.
It's all dependant on the car's tune, the exhaust design, the flow of the engine, and how restrictive / muffling the resonators and mufflers are. Even the temperature of the exhaust piping has an effect: a cool exhaust will enhance this over-run noise by encouraging the formation of these pressure zones.
The NPP exhaust helps muffle this by providing some restriction that forces those pressure zones to combine early as well as forcing the exhaust gases through the mufflers to further lower the noise.

Some manufacturers purposely tune the ECM to induce this. The Jaguar F-Type is the best example. The engineers purposely coded the ECM to direct inject a little extra fuel during deceleration.
I honestly don't know how they got by the noise standard test, but OMG it sounds glorious.

Track mode
I notice it back fires alot more in Track mode. Do you notice any difference in Track mode?

Are you downshifting or upshifting? Not sure from your post, but if you are talking about at WOT, there is a momentary cut off of fuel to facilitate faster shifts, which is most likely what you are hearing. You will get that more consistently if you DON'T lift off the go pedal. It is not necessary to lift off the gas when accelerating.
And obviously, a louder exhaust will make the noise more clear.

Advanced
I was gonna create a tread on this as well.
I had been running muffler delete for a while until I installed the corsa xpipe and extreme exhaust last weekend. To be honest, I am quiet disappointed by the corsa set-up. It is as quiet as ..... I no longer have that popping sound anymore.
Would the main cats delete solve this problem?

On my C6 with H/C/Exhaust, the tuner tuned out fueling on deceleration. It took away the snap/crackle/pop. I missed it so I went back to the tuner after a month and it took him 2 minutes to add fueling on deceleration back in. On the C7, track mode on sound management option leaves the valves open 100% of the time. I'm guessing more fueling on deceleration pop can be tuned in??

Jason,
Possibly while creating a whole lot more.

As Foosh said the F-Type mastered the art of snap crackle pops. This is engineered into the fuel management system.
It would be interesting to know if a tune could duplicate this in the C7. And if yes, what the long term affects would be.
I love this sound.
