Still too big and aesthetics aside ( I like the look), it won't fit into the steering wheel slot.

If your battery dies, the emergency key isn't going to start the car, but the OEM fob can be inserted into the pocket on the right side of the steering column and do that.

I won't believe it's possible until I see a video of it working with either a dead or missing/removed battery. Otherwise it's just a case of close is good enough.
That case is 50% wider than the OEM case, which just fits snugly in the slot.

Perhaps the arrow head will fit in the slot and stay there, but the point of the slot is that a dead OEM fob will still start the car. I've never understood exactly how, but assumed there is a sensor in the slot that detects the presence of the OEM fob, when snugly inserted.

I don't know exactly how it does it w/o a battery, but it does.
Some sort of RFID kind of thing?
eta: the fob with no battery has to be IN the slot to work. Near does not work.
