#42 on a 2017.
The other option is to install a Mild to Wild switch, as I did which acts like pulling fuse #42, but then you can choose ( at the touch of a button) to make it quiet again.

no problem !!!!
It's in the fuse panel in the engine compartment, NOT the one in the back of the car. The lid to the fuse panel, has them all marked by number.

Yet, another option is to use DashLogic's DashControl unit for the C7. In addition to showing any PIDs like boost and IAT temps on the dash as well as chiming configurable warnings like IAT temp alerts, or RPM shift alert, this simple ODB2 device allows you to use the mirror adjustor selector switch to override the car's commanded NPP exhaust: Left mirror: exhaust is always open, right mirror: always closed, middle position: let the car decide.

In any case, I thought on the 2017's this was controllable by the settings in the Infotaiment tool? I don't have mine yet to know though.

Ahh, found this post (#6 in thread) that explains it. So I guess the fuse pull or a mod is required to really make it loud on the A8.

Just tried it... i can hardley tell a differance. Only thing i notice is there is no more low rpm switch that you normally get when highway cruising. If this is all the m2w does i think its a waste. Put the money in the long tubes fund.

You may think that the valves are always open in Sport or Track modes, but they actually aren't. This has been true of all NPP cars since introduction. The valves do still close under certain conditions even in "loud mode," which was necessary for the car to pass noise regulations.
The only way to have them open all the time is to pull the fuse. If you pay close attention, there is a difference when you do. I initially didn't notice the difference until I started experimenting, and I also thought you could keep them open all the time by selecting Sport or Track modes. I was wrong.
The M2W device is just the electronic equivalent of pulling the fuse and putting it back in. It's not a huge difference, but it is louder all the time w/ the fuse pulled. M2W gives you the full control over whether you want it loud all the time or not, that the OEM settings do not allow.
